Story
This is my story, from a crumbling apartment in Central Falls, Rhode Island, to the stage in New York City, and beyond. This is the path I took to finding my purpose and my strength, but also to finding my voice in a world that didn't always see me. As I wrote Finding Me, my eyes were open to the truth of how our stories are often not given close examination. They are bogarted, reinvented to fit into a crazy, competitive, judgmental world. So I wrote this for anyone who is searching for a way to understand and overcome a complicated past, let go of shame and find acceptance.

Horrible unnecessary book
- By Trudi on 06-12-2019
Publisher's Summary
Social media and business entrepreneur Sophie Cachia reveals never-before-shared details of her marriage breakdown, and how delving into her feminine intuition and falling in love with a woman turned her whole world upside down.
I was running late, again. The sweat from under my milk-filled udders ran down my stomach and onto the post-natal recovery shorts I’d squeezed on under my leather skirt. Only eight weeks earlier, I’d birthed my second baby, and this was one of my first work appearances.
I raced into the hotel, took the lift to the wrong floor, fumbled my bag and finally landed at the entrance. I went around the circle of unfamiliar faces, smiling, shaking hands, introducing myself....
Then there was her.
As our hands touched, time froze. My whole world changed forever....
Sophie Cachia had her white picket fence life. By the age of 25, she was a mother and happily married, and had also built a very successful business by documenting her every move online.
But Sophie and her comfortable existence were thrown a curveball when she met a woman who prompted her to ask herself the questions: What more can I do? What more can I learn? What more can I be?
In Then There Was Her, Sophie describes how challenging the set social narrative for a young woman led her down a path of awareness, empowerment, and acceptance as she navigated identity, sensuality, and the true meaning of authenticity as a mother and a woman.
A deeply honest and inspirational memoir of a strong female who made peace with her decisions all in the unrelenting glare of the public eye, Then There Was Her encourages listeners to stop fearing the unknown in life and to instead be excited about what may just come your way.

I’m really disappointed I love Sophie
Sophie
I have followed your for years on social media.
I honestly own about 20 pairs of your pyjamas they’re the best.
The book is really hard to follow whether you are talking about interstate beau or high bun lady.
Would have loved to hear about cachia pjs, your other businesses. They’re iconic!!!!!
How you’re following accumulated over the years.
A shorter summary of how many times you went back to wrong for you girl would have sufficed. Potential to have been a good read but I switched off.
Bit disappointed at her ego in the book that doesn’t quite come across as humble. Hmm sad

An interesting insight into Sophie's life
I'm a long time follower and fan of Sophie's and was eagerly awaiting the arrival of her book. I did enjoy it but to be honest it made me cringe in parts. I'm not sure what it was exactly, but she came across as overly self assured and selfish at times and not particularly humble. I know that sounds harsh as she is a beautiful confident woman, so she has every reason to be self assured, but it's just the impression I got when reading her story. It's her story to tell though and I appreciated her raw honesty and sharing intimate details of her life. It was good to hear Jarryd's foreword as well and I admire their beautiful friendship and how they co parent. Like many I hoped to hear more about Maddie and their relationship however the majority of the book was about her soccer player ex. I did feel for her, hearing about her heartbreak, and related to her on some levels, however It just felt like too much on that one particular person. Overall though, it was a great listen and I would definitely recommend it.

Terrible, self indulgent, poorly written
Can not believe this made it to print.
The writing is atrocious and poorly edited. The stories are incredibly self indulgent and offer no real substance. She puts down everyone close to her including her mother.
I am honestly gobsmacked at how this was approved to be printed. Don’t waste your time!

Absolutely loved this book, so inspiring to hear about how Sophie navigated her life when confronted with the possibility of being a Lesbian.
Jared was a real star too, not many Husband's would be as supportive, high five from me Jared.
Sophie was honest and raw about this whole journey and writing this book would've been good therapy.

Had higher hopes
At times the book felt poorly written. I felt a bit bored as the writer kept saying the same kind of cliche things over and over again. This really needed to be reviewed and edited properly.
Overall it all felt a bit self-indulgent and sadly lacked the inspiration / motivational notion that the writer seemed to be angling toward.
