Boring

I had to return this book, I found the story very boring and just couldn’t get into it. It is unusual for me not to get to the end of a book!

Failed to Ignite

I was a little dissapointed with the overall experience. The story was very average and trundled along but never really got going. The narration was ok but because of the accent I couldn't help thinking I was listening to an episode of Thomas the tank engine.

Excellent

Mark Billingham writes and tells an intriguing story. His narration is perfect. I liked the fact that it is not necessary for him to create different voices in order to bring the characters to life. The book held my interest throughout. I was sorry it ended and can’t wait for the next book in the Thorne series.

Loved It

This was my first Mark Billingham novel, and it totally drew me in. I listen to Audible books while travelling, and this was guilty of encouraging me to drive around the block on occasions as I got to an exciting bit. Excellent.

A cleverly crafted story....

well, I didn't see that coming. a very clever twist to a typical con story. I was gripped from start to finish. it was also well narrated. I've read nearly all of MB's books, and this was definitely a good one!

not very inspiring

meanders along but no denouement or any real explanation. felt a bit pointless. and authors reading their work is often a bit poor
