Publisher's Summary

Gabe lives a double life. As Gabriel Henson, he works multiple jobs to support his remorseless alcoholic mother. As Tony Ryder, he does Internet porn for extra cash. When he encounters a scared young man freaking out in a nightclub, Gabe is compelled to reach out. Ever since then the memory of that young man has haunted him.

Tristan Lavelle lives his life 30 minutes at a time. After a traumatic brain injury three years ago, he gets through his days recording his life in spiral notebooks and sticky note reminders. A month after Tristan's embarrassingly public meltdown, another chance meeting with Gabe sparks a warm, emotionally fulfilling email relationship. Both men crave more but fear of the next step stands between them - until Tristan gets the opportunity to take part in a clinical trial that could improve his memory.

✫✫ 4 Stars ✫✫

I was excited about Tristan's book! After book 1 I was curious about him and how he would get his HEA. I loved the way the author gave him a chance when in book 1 his outcome was dim. I also liked how Tristan was still flirty and happy even with his problems. Gabe was perfect for Tristan and didn't let Tristan's problems deter him from what he felt. They were super sweet and hot together. Happy ending.

The narration was good. Guy Locke does a good job with these characters.

Good story but...

I read this book when it first came out and love this whole series. I was looking forward to the audio. I enjoyed it but the narrator could have been better. He was so monotone. But it didn't ruin it. I love all Arthur's stories.

Not as good as Book 1

This was one of those weird times where I didn't like the narrators' performance as much in this book as the previous book. This is Tristan and Gabe's story, two men we met in Book 1. Although technically this is a stand alone, I really don't think you can enjoy it as much unless you listen to Book 1. Noel and Shane are prominent in this story. I enjoyed MC and their courtship, Tristan's struggle with his health issues and Gabe and Noel's friction. I think the story was longer than it had to be with Gabe's family drama thrown it. But the only real issue I had was with the narrator's performance of Gabe's voice. I really hated it; he sounded like a doofus IMHO. Also, the author's overuse of the word "definitely" really grated on my nerves after a while. I kept hearing that little girl from the kid's show Dragon Tales in my head; she says definitely a lot. Granted, that is just me and probably not something other listeners will have a problem with. Overall, a good installment, but I don't think I will continue the series.

All over the place

Most of my issues are with the performance. It wasn't always clear when the narrator was switching characters. The characterizations were a bit flat. The story seemed to just... end and the epilogue was sweet but felt pasted on.

Not as good as first in series but worth it

As I thoroughly enjoyed book 1, this one was a bit of a let down. Not as much going on, too slow and not unique enough from first book. Enjoyed Tristan's dealing with memory loss, thought that was a nice perspective but that was the only really good part of the whole story.

I chose to give it 5 stars anyway because had I not read this directly after book 1, put a month or two between them, it might not have been so slow and repetitive.

Still thought narrator was only average.

Better than the first

Still trying to figure out the narrators accent (native, not character). It's really driving me buggy.

Performance improved when I bumped up the speed

I am rubbish at reviewing, books, but I want to add to the other reviews. I agree the narration seemed a little dull, but by increasing the playback speed to 1.25x - it improved the narrators performance a lot.

Sweet Book!

I really liked this book. I loved Tristan's character, he's someone you want to jump into the book and just Hug. lol. And I am really Glad that Gabe is fine with Tristan's memory loss issues and that it doesn't affect their relationship too much. I was also happy with the fact that Tristan is ok with Gabe's Job in the porn industry as well. That was a happy plus to the story. Not too much angst in this book like the first one it was the perfect amount of everything. This is my favorite so far from this series.
Audio - Again Guy does a great job with this one. I really liked his voice for Tristan on this one and had no problem following along with the story at all. Glad to see he is also listed as the narrator for book 3 and I will be listening to that one next.

Gabe & Tristan will steal your heart!!!

If you could sum up The World as He Sees It in three words, what would they be?

Patience wins always

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I wish I could have listened to Gabe & Tristan's story in one sitting. They had a crazy connection and the story really melted my heart. I think the author did a wonderful job of creating this story and bringing it to life in a realistic way, but totally enjoyable as well.

Better than the first book

As much as I loved A.M. Arthur's first book and devoured it in literally a day, this was the story I was excited about reading. It was obviously going to be a major story from the second you read Tristan going to Big Dicks and his terrible experience there. What wasn't obvious was how emotional that relationship was going to be and its effects on Shane and Noel. This book gave me so much anxiety (in a good way) and kept me on the edge of my seat so many times. I loved this story and I'm happy it exists.
