About this listen

The best way to gain confidence after years with the wrong guy? Hayden Owens—the hottest defenseman in pro hockey, my confident best friend, and my new dating coach.

He’ll teach me to be a player, but convinces me to practice with him.

We’ve been friends for years, but our flirting lessons and practice kisses push the bounds of friendship.

We’re roommates, but sleeping in the same bed.

He buys me a toy as a favor… but helps me use it.

All that relationship stuff he’s always avoided? He doesn’t seem to mind it anymore.

Rule number one of being a player is no attachments, but when Hayden sees me picking up other guys, he’s jealous enough that I wonder...

Maybe my wingman's been waiting for me all along.

The Wingman is a pro hockey relationship coach romance. It's the third book in the Vancouver Storm series but can be enjoyed as a standalone.

I loved this story. This is the best of the series so far.
Hayden and Darcy’s story was sweet and cute. I found this story funny at times. Finding myself giggling while listening.

Best so far.

this review truly pains me to write because this book had so much going for it and i loved darcy’s journey of self-discovery but it fell a bit flat for me. i loved their friendship and the found family was so heartwarming but main issue was the plot lacked the depth i hoped for, especially with hayden’s character. it didn’t quite live up to the previous books for me, friends to lovers can truly win but sometimes it just flops. that said i am very excited for the next book.

didn't hit the way I wanted

This was your quintessential cute read. Everything falls into place nicely, everyone is super sweet and all situations just pleasantly arise.
Although all the ‘training’ items were blatantly moving toward the ultimate goal and you would have to be ... well a character in a book to not see what was happening, it was fun to read (listen to). The trauma, or tribulations that needed to be overcome weren’t super traumaey, they were bottled up and glided over, maintaining the cutesey feel to the book. There was less hockey in this hockey romance than is usually present. The characters were fun and flirty.
A read for the feels!

A 3.5ish kind of a read.

Another book by Stephanie Archer that I really enjoyed listening to on Audiobook. Loved the narrators too. Will keep reading her writing.

Love these two Characters!

I didn’t think I would love an ice hockey couple more than Rory and Hazel from The Fake Out, but Hayden and Darcy are so fun together. Friends to lovers is a difficult trope to nail, but there’s so much banter and teasing between these two that you can’t help barrack for them.

I do feel like the narrators let it down a little though. It felt more like reading than performing, or maybe that they just didn’t quite ‘get’ the characters that have been built up over three books. It’s a shame because it’s such a charming fluffy easy romance when your heart is looking for some comfort food

My fave ice hockey series
