Publisher's Summary

Crispin Flynn has been on a downward spiral ever since he lost the woman he loved and watched his brother forced into a life he never would have chosen. His response has been drinking and gambling his way to utter ruin. One night, deep in his cups, he places a dangerous bet that results in him being forced to marry Gemma, the widow of the Earl of Laurelcross.

Gemma once had a passionate side, but has been hiding it ever since her much older husband died during the act of making love. Now she finds herself the much unwanted wife of one of the biggest libertines in London and the subject of even more gossip than ever.

Once they determine they cannot escape the marriage, the two begin a slow circling of each other. Passion is easy, but can they overcome mistrust and secrets in order to make the worst night of their lives one of their best? Or are they bound to lose each other before their love can take root?

This book can be heard as a stand-alone novel but is part of The Notorious Flynns series.

No wow factor

This book just did not leave an impression on me at all. A generic story, unmemorable characters and unrealistic storyline. I did not feel taken at all by the book and will definitely not ever attempt to re-read this book as I do some of my favorites. This is not to say it was bad, just not great.

Narrated by an awesome lady! Well written, moves along well, great characters. Sex scenes nicely done too. Can't wait for more by this author.

Great sequel!

The author created a lot of drama for book three in book two. She also hinted in book three at some things that didn't happen, yet. I hope that they do! I love the characters and the way they stick around for subsequent tales.

Pretty good

Wasn’t great but wasn’t bad. Had some eye rolls. Lots of sex scenes which was nice but felt a little lacking and repetitive. Could’ve used some more creativeness in the love making scenes. This is book 3 of a series, I’ll be listening to book 1 and 2 for sure. Narration wasn’t bad, could’ve had better male voices.

Beautiful love story!

This was an unexpected love story. The twists and turns of it made for interesting reading. I enjoyed the Heroine! She is a beautiful widow and has a strong character. The storyline is captivating, especially the love scenes. I didn't like the Narrator's voice for the male characters.

Good, but...

I am not going to give away the plot, but it was a little...unbelievable. I also had trouble warming up to the heroine. It's not that she is awful, but she is kind of...unlikable. She has no interests outside of being a martyr and screwing the hero. It's not that she is awful, but she isn't realistic to me. I felt like telling her to get off the cross because someone could use the wood, except she clearly had issues regarding self respect. Literally, she banged the hero constantly without him ever saying a word of love to her. Oh, and all her self sacrifice made me nauseous. Just once I wanted her to be a smartass or SOMETHING other than a mewly mouthed mouse that saved everybody and blushed all the time.

This story live up to everything I was hoping for. The characters had depth and the story was more than interesting. I love happy endings.

Best of all in series.

Don't get me wrong I really enjoyed the first two books in this series, the the story line in this one is the best. You really don't know the answer to that one little question until the end of the book. I loved it, I couldn't put it down. Crispin Flynn is the question mark.

I wager you'll like this book!

If you liked the first 2 books in the series - you should really like this one! Crispin and Gemma are great together. Crispin really has some issues that keep you guessing on what "really" happened. It all comes together nicely. Really good love scenes. I liked the inclusion of the rest of the family from the first too books - that's always a plus for me!

Best book of the series for me! Credit worthy

Not worth the money.

She was married off young to a man 20 years older, who taught her the pleasure of sex. When she didn't conceive, he withdrew these pleasures, in an effort to retrieve them, she seduces her husband, who dies in the act. With her reputation ruined, her father gambles her off to a man who is drowning in self-pity. They naturally use plenty of sex to solve the problem, but this doesn't work. She finally finds the solution, he forgives himself and all is resolved. The narrator did her best with a terrible story.
