About this listen

In only six weeks, Isla Ramsey is due to marry Henry Northrup, the sixth Earl of Sydney. But she remains haunted by memories of the dashing Hugh Courtney, the Marquess Pierce. The handsome aristocrat had hinted at forever and then tossed her aside, leaving Isla with few viable options. Now, as she awaits her new fiance's arrival from London, she rides her horse past Hugh's estate at Hazelwood every day, pining for a man who was never truly hers.

Hugh Courtney may have left Isla's life, but he can't erase her from his thoughts. When he rescues her from a sudden snowstorm, they are forced to take shelter together at his private estate. In such close quarters there is no escaping each other. Yet no man wants a reckless wife - or a woman promised to another. As fate draws Isla further into his world, Hugh vows to keep her out of his bedchamber. However, some vows are meant to be broken...

Liked the storyline, narrator did a good job so all in all I found it a good listen and would recommend.

Enjoyable

Nice twist to the usual story, thoroughly enjoyed. Narrator read well and gave great inflections on the different characters however he drove me nuts with his instance on long pauses for the end of the sentence. kinda broke the spell. still worth the listen

it was lovely, the author paused a bit too often whilst reading but the story was easy to listen to.

beautiful story

I enjoyed this story with its presentation of two complicated love stories. It was unusual to have a same sex love story feature but it was beautifully done. Also it was refreshing to have our hero admit to falling in love instead of being forever in denial which often happens in these tales. Well written and well narrated. I did note what seemed to be a mispronunciation of the name Lachlan, and the mispronunciation of the word 'ton' but overall the narration was excellent. 'Ton' in the context of high society is not pronunced like the weight 'ton' (tun). It is from the French 'bon ton' and both words are pronounced the same.

A story with real depth of feeling.

The two main characters become betrothed to other people over a misunderstanding but after they learn the truth they don't do anything. Their respective partners fall for other people and jilt the main characters which allows the main characters to marry. Waste of time and the worst story ever
