This book was brilliantly narrated. It takes a while to build up to the main story but it is worth it. I restarted a few times but really enjoyed the story once I had the attention to go with the seemingly random jumping from story to story a t the beginning. The author's sense of humour made the exposition quite fun as well.

Worth the wait

The blurb implied a quiet village shopkeeper (a medium?) who turns out to be haunted by the ghost of his mentor.

I don’t know if it actually turns out to be true because I gave up after 4.5hrs.

This story took way too long to get to some sort of point, and there seemed to be several different stories happening at once that didn’t actually appear to have any connection to each other at all.

It also contains far too much science to be called a comedy.
