What is The Underdog Advantage all about?

Do you ever feel stuck in your life? Here's how to flip that switch! Finally the successful road map for those not born to privilege or the advantaged. Do things look good on the outside but on the inside, you feel like a prisoner trapped in mediocrity? Or maybe you feel like you missed your chance, or you can't find your starting point, and no matter what you do, nothing moves you forward? You're the underdog, dismissed, counted out, lacking the right resources, and unsupported. This book changes all that by taking you on a journey and teaching you what successful "underdogs" throughout time have already discovered.

Your so-called disadvantages are the fuel and the hidden superpower to accomplish anything. You know the secret on how to flip the success switch on in your life. This book will teach you that as an underdog - something we all are - you're actually in a great position, and with one or two small shifts, you can unlock limitless potential.

Being an underdog means you don't have to worry about what other people think, you have a lot of room to improve, you can get easy momentum, you can sneak up on competitors, and you have incredible sources of motivation. Soon you will learn that being an underdog is actually your ultimate unfair advantage to next level wealth, prosperity, happiness, and joy.

Life Changing, A New Beginning

I like Dean’s honesty. He didn’t hide anything, because of his struggles and failures. I know the solutions or actions he is inviting me to do is real. I don’t come from wealth, nor do I come from poverty. I’m a proud daughter of a blue collar family. Yet, I want to impact the world. I want to help people like me find freedom in the sense that no outside force can limit the health, safety, and opportunities of my family, friends, and community. Thank you Dean!!!

ok but not as good as I expected

There were some good parts to this book but a lot of it seemed so far out of touch. It should be called the privileged underdog, the examples used in my opinion were for people who have done well in life and want to shift things and keep going. I expected better. Also the audio quality was complete TRASH! By far the worst audio I've ever heard on this app in 5 years of using it. Every yes EVERY chair ended with the audio skipping like a CD with scratches on it. every 3 to 4 minutes there was some type of noise that sounded like someone slowly stirring a spoon in a tea cup. I find it completely unacceptable for someone so smart and successful to have released such a poor quality product. I hope they fix it one day. Definitely requesting a refund.

One point made for over 3 hours

I’m really disappointed with this book. I’m a big fan of Dean’s friend Tony Robbins and have completed some online challenges with him. That’s how I discovered Dean. During these trainings I wrote pages of notes from all the speakers, including Dean, so I was excited to listen to this book.

I was very surprised that having listened to the whole production I have come away with no new incites. I can sum up the whole book in a sentence:

‘as an underdog you don’t have expectations on you so you can experiment without pressure and without having to consult with anyone. You can also learn new skills.’

I don’t know how Dean is defining an underdog, as he then talks about spending over $1 million on trainings and flying around the country to speak to experts. He then helpfully suggests that you pay for the training he offers, a suggestion that is repeated throughout the book. In fact one whole chapter is basically an infomercial for his course.

I’ve listed to nearly 100 books on Audible, none of which have the technical issues this book suffers from. There is a fault at the start of each chapter, for example it will say ‘chapter six, chapter 6, chapter....’ Then Dean will immediately start taking without a pause. I actually experimented with reducing the speed of the book as some chapters felt like they were being played at a higher speed. I would have expected someone would have listened to the whole production before it was released.

This is my first book from this author and honestly it’s put me off buying another, which is a shame as I know Dean could do better. This book could have made an interesting article, but is really not worth three hours of your time.
