Loved the story. Felt like it was something different that other fantasy books. I did find it really distracting that the MMC narrator would read his chapters in an American accent however whenever he was actually speaking he had a British accent???? I don’t understand why his inner monologue wouldn’t be in his spoken accent?! Really distracting and nearly DNF’d because of this.

I think I only got hooked a few chapters in but it was worth it! Definitely a new fav 😍. Things you will either love or hate- there is smut that is quite graphic. The FMC is the badass, haughty independent woman type. Finishes on a cliffhanger.

I think the narrators did amazing. I loved the plot twists! I dont like much smut in books so for it to be a 5 star with the amount there was is kind of impressive. I liked the characters and the different world (give it a few chapters). The plot is good and the actual romance side I liked. I didn't love the FMC but she wasn't unbearable to me either. I often don't bother with second books even with cliffhanger endings but will be investing in the next one.

I like dark romance however this storyline and the characters kept me wanting more. The ending was somewhat obvious but the extra twists have me by the edge of my seat. Fantastic read!!

So this book was quite different from what I expected. I thought it was going to be dark and gritty. I enjoyed the plot. It had loads of potential, and I enjoyed the different realms and mystic attributes. Didn't care too much about Caius and Rory. Really, this was a 3.5

Excellent from start to finish. Loved everything about it. The narration was perfect, the story was fast paced and the romance was 👌. Strong herione, jealous/possessive hero with lots of twists and turns. My new favourite read/listen for 2024. Off to read part 2

The first few chapters of the book were not very interesting however they did provide important context for the rest of the book. After the first few chapters I was hooked and really enjoyed the plot, romance and character development.
