Publisher's Summary

What would you do to inherit a million dollars? Would you be willing to change your life? Jason Stevens is about to find out in Jim Stovall's The Ultimate Gift.

Red Stevens has died, and the older members of his family receive their millions with greedy anticipation. But a different fate awaits young Jason, whom Stevens, his great-uncle, believes may be the last vestige of hope in the family. "Although to date your life seems to be a sorry excuse for anything I would call promising, there does seem to be a spark of something in you that I hope we can fan into a flame. For that reason, I am not making you an instant millionaire."

What Stevens does give Jason leads to The Ultimate Gift. Young and old will take this timeless tale to heart.

A Delightful Story Well Told!

The first of Jim Stovall's "Ultimate..." trilogy and a delightful introduction to his positive oriented books. As an avid self-help enthusiast, I hadn't expected much new info, and yet a number of the key topics (no spoilers, here) were presented with a fresh approach. I look forward to "reading" Jim Stovall's other books.
The narration by Tom Bosley was excellent and reminiscent of his role as a kind-hearted father on the TV-series "Happy Days."
Two thumbs up!

Life Is What You Make It

The story was informative, inspiring and interesting. It would be a good (in chapters) youth class presentation. The narrator was perfect.

What a treasure!

I can't wait to pass this book along to my son for his 10th birthday. I hope he gets as much out of it as I did. Tom Bosley did a fantastic job. His familiar voice really helped bring you into the story like you were family.

The Ultimate Gift Regiven

Thank you for this beautiful story. I seen the movie several times, but the book has outdone the movie and I believe that I will be applying some of the gifts that Jason learned throughout those 12 months to my own life. Thank you Jim Stovall!

I was surprised by the life experiences and lessons I've discovered in this book.It was a great gift.
The narrator is amazing and the whole audio experience is great. I really enjoyed it
The book gives an interesting perspective on life and how we can live it focusing on what's really important.
It touches sensitive subjects that are seen as gifts like Money, Work, Education, Love, Problems, Friends, Family, and so on.
I totally recommend it to everyone who wants to put in perspective their own life and the way they live their every single day

Movie was better.

Movie was much better, more creative story line. Book sounds academic and preachy. For instance, in the movie the gift of work was discovered. In the book it was a chapter title.

Lovely story and solid narration

the narration of the stories fantastic! The only thing that I didn't love about it was the music between the chapters. The volume seemed a little bit too loud compared to the narration, so that wasn't great. The story is really sweet, and it's a good introspective read.

Buy It !

I bought this book (the hard copy) many many years ago, and I have read it many times, I've lent it out many times, and I have to say it has had some profound effects.
