The deliciously dark new suspense novel from the international bestselling author of Strange Sally Diamond

If my sister hadn’t been beautiful, none of it would have happened.

Ruby Cooper and her sister, Erin, live an idyllic life in their close-knit church community in Boston. But when Ruby is sixteen, she is involved in an incident that causes her family’s world to implode.

Across decades, the fallout leaves a wake of destruction behind Ruby in Dublin and Erin in Boston.

Not that Ruby wants to think about the past.

But it can’t stay a secret forever.

Dark, fearless and compelling - in other words, classic Liz Nugent. Utterly distinctive and unique, this is another unforgettable work from an outstanding and brilliant crime writer.

This is a great psychological thriller. No ridiculous twist and turns, but a real look at the disturbing behaviour of multiple inviduals.

Believable

Although this book held my interest, I doubt it would have done if not for the excellent readers. Nowhere near as good as Strange Sally Diamond.

Intriguing

It was my favourite book of the year to listen to. I was hooked and didnt want it to end!

Such great characters

Engrossing, powerful, disturbing… beautifully produced and read. As good as Strange Sally Diamond? No. Shorter and simpler. I was waiting for that one last Liz Nugent twist to make me question everything… but the ending was kind of unsatisfying.

Well written, wonderful narration

The story was great - perfect level of complicated. Liz Nugent writes fantastic believably twisted characters and page turning plots. I didn't like this as much as her other books, and it was severely let down by the main narrator.

Great story
