About this listen
Deep in the Black Forest lives a boy named Hans. He spends his summers gathering wood each season with his father for the coming winters in Germany. He learns of many folk tales about the forest while growing up. One always stood out in his mind, "The Trees with No Leaves". On Hans' 18th birthday, his father suddenly becomes very ill, leaving Hans to collect wood for the summer alone with his horse, Steel Gray. An ordinary summer day in the forest is quickly changed with a terrible storm. It causes Hans to seek shelter, but what he finds is more beauty than anyone could ever imagine.
