Publisher's Summary

From Michael Wolff, author of the explosive, number one best seller Fire and Fury, comes the mesmerizing story behind the most bizarre melt-down in recent American political history.

The decline and fall of Rudy Giuliani, from “America’s Mayor” to public spectacle, has all the makings of a modern Shakespearean tragedy. Those who know Giuliani, whose tough leadership and even tougher politics helped revitalize New York City in the 1990s and lead the country through 9/11, have stood by and watched with incredulity as he put himself at the heart of impeachment charges against the President.

In The Tragedy of Rudy Giuliani, Michael Wolff uncovers just what happened to the iconoclastic former mayor, and reveals how his apparent self-destruction frames some of the great political questions of the age: How have evidently unstable people come to have such success in institutional politics? How have the mean and nasty achieved such heights in a system that has valued – insisted on – likeability and conventionality?

partisan and not factual, at times

the latest info shows,
Trump WAS wire tapped.
He DIDN'T collude with Russia.
Hillary made it all up and the walls as closing in around her.
The story made her out as a saint, both her and Trump were the worst candidates ever.

insightful and entertaining.

fantastic listen with great insights into one mans desperate need to be respected, included and lauded. but rather failing and falling, very publicly in a sad and pathetic way.

Illuminating!

Michael Wolff both writes and narrates well. This book gives a good background to some of the mystery surrounding Trump's behaviour and Guliano's strange transformation. I found it fascinating without any palaver. Well worth a read/listen.

Great read.

Well written and enlightening. Helps explain how Trump's presidency was what it was. Would recommend it.

Interesting

For someone who is not American and hasn’t had too much exposure to Giuliani, this was a very interesting listen. The book pushes the narrative that he is descending into madness. Watching him from the other side of the world it certainly does appear that way, but the book did seem somewhat unbalanced and biased. The author has a number of anti Trump books so I guess it all fits!
