An MMC who is so capable, protective, secure, loving and unafraid of his feelings without making a show of any of it. A man after my own heart. The thief was the most emotionally mature of the soldiers and oh my goodness the way he was with the FMC’s daughter had me melting and swooning. (SPOILER: The adoption scene had me sobbing! Too perfect!) I couldn’t fault him in any way. The way he was such a third tier character in the first few books had me thinking he’d be boring, but boy was I wrong— he turned out to be my favourite. This series doesn’t get nearly enough credit. Narrators were excellent too btw. Shane East is the reason I even found this series.
