About this listen

One life changing moment of madness…

Perfect for fans of Liane Moriarty, Shari Lapena and Lisa Jewell

It was supposed to be a fresh start. A move to a new town for me and my family.
I’d been offered the perfect position, teaching English at the local high school but then I met sixth form student Nicky Stevens.
Initially flattered by his attention, I let my guard down.
But I had no idea of the monster I’d let into my life or just how far his obsession would go.
Nothing could prepare me for the devastating consequences caused by my one moment of weakness.

Sorry but i had to stop about a quarter of the way through. I can't believe how gullible and stupid the main character was. It made me mad and I was frustrated at her behaviour. Wouldn't recommend.

Frustrating

Boring story, annoying main character and the performance was not great. She read as a question!

I was glad when it was over!Struggled with the main character.

Pleasant to listen too, a bit tedious with mundane details. Difficult to relate to any of the main characters.
Certainly not a gripping thriller, more like a conundrum of her own making and she continues to make bad choices right until the end.

Thriller? Not really.

This story tries to get you to sympathise with an adult woman who has sex with her pupil by trying to make him the villain. While he is not without fault he is the child in this scenario. If the genders were reversed and the teacher a male no one would accept this story as entertaining.

Disgusting story about a female predator

Narration suited the text, other than that, glad I was listening when doing other things - ticked off the predictable events one by one as they happened.

Totally predictable

Good narration but awful story. Predictable, long winded, repetitive. Thoroughly annying and unlikeable characters.

Not great

Definitely struggled to make it to the end.
The main character was infuriating.
Wouldn’t recommend

Predictable

This was painful to finish - the protagonist was so selfish and self pitying with no regards for her daughter. I was so relieved when I reached the silly ending. Don't waste your time!

Unrealistic

I reached Chapter 11, I just couldn't continue. I'm annoyed that I'm going to have an incomplete book here, but I can't stand it anymore. We get it, we get all of it! Chapter after chapter of repetitiveness, it's just not good enough.

Tedious and lacklustre.
