Publisher's Summary

It's time for your operation.

Christian Windsor is a certified genius. He's also autistic. Social situations? Not for him. Friends? No thanks. At 23 years old, with two PhDs, Christian joins the FBI's most dangerous division, The Exceptional Crimes Unit. His first assignment? A serial killer on a rampage. Nicknamed The Surgeon, he's cutting the eyeballs out of women.

That's not the only psychopath lurking in the shadows, though. There's another, and Christian can't see him: his partner. The world renowned psychiatrist, Luke Titan.

Bodies are showing up with dark holes instead of eyes, and Christian is racing against time to understand The Surgeon's identity before more die....

Can he stop The Surgeon, though, before his own partner kills him?

I’m hooked

Fascinating look into the mind of a psychopath. Also found the references to HF autism very interesting. Would recommend

The ending was not as imagined

The book was gripping but the end was a bit of a let down. Couldn’t wait for the next listen all the way through. Well narrated !

Loopholes

I like the story but I can’t understand how can the savant, who is socially awkward, have been blindsided with a super obvious conspiracy connection. All the while being able to get a detailed background of the suspect he barely knew. It’s weird

Why haven’t I seen this before!

Utterly gripping and I couldn’t stop listening. Preferred finishing the book to watching telly! An unexpected find and now I’m on to the rest of the series.

Not for the faint hearted

In two minds with this book. Couldn’t stop listening but disappointed with the ending. Not my usual pick of a book, but it was free. The narrator wasn’t my favourite.

Fast paced and fascinating

Loved the speed of the book. Character development wasn’t dragged out and the story started up. Loved the performance of the narrator. I’ve ordered the rest of the series!

Felt a bit like a teaser.

Wanted more. Will check to see if there’s more in there series. Would love to see how Christian’s character and career progress. The narrator seemed appropriate but would have liked to see more differentiation between characters.

it would be great made into a movie.

I found it difficult at times to follow the storyline without seeing some of the characters faces
