A sexy start to a new sports series
A football romance from Ana Huang? Yes, please! The Twisted and Kings of Sin author scores big time with her first sports romance, the story of a Premier League footballer who falls for his rival’s sister, a former prima ballerina. While I don’t come across it often, I really love duet-style narration –where each performer reads the dialogue and action of their character across all chapters – and here, narrators Shane East and Stella Hunter make Huang’s sexy banter truly shine, volleying back and forth to create the most delicious romantic tension. Their charming accents and smooth delivery of swoony heartfelt words had me pining for Asher and Scarlett to find their happily ever after. If you’re looking for a hero who’s an actual green flag, Asher Donovan is the standard. Everyone else is just trying.
I loved everything about this audiobook. All the banter and tension you expect from the Anaverse, delivered with flawless pacing and character chemistry.

Performed in duet narration by my OG romance dream team—the legendary romance god Shane East and the incredible romance goddess Stella Hunter—this audiobook is an absolute standout.

Stella’s posh British accent is pure perfection, and Shane’s cheeky London-boy tone? Utterly irresistible. Together, they elevate the banter, the tension, and every charged moment between Asher and Scarlett. Their delivery makes this forbidden romance feel so electric, you genuinely feel it through your earbuds.

Asher Donovan might be the flirt of the year—his flirt is flirting—and when it comes to Scarlett, she never stood a chance. He falls hard, fast, and with zero hesitation, and the performance brings every shade of that to life.

And a special note for fellow Shane fans: when he says “darling,” prepare yourself. I counted forty-five times, and every single one is a moment. There are a few “sweethearts” in there too, and nothing compares to the way he delivers those lines.

This has easily become one of my top five audiobooks of the 2024. Whether you’re reading, listening, or switching between both, this is one story you do not want to miss. Trust me.

I loved the story! The voice actors are each very talented, with a huge range of accents and cadences. I'm just not a fan of duet audios. E.g. instead of Asher reading all the voices in his chapters, Scarlett read the female lines, and I found this distracting. I prefer the style of the Twisted Love audios where each character reads the entirity of their chapters.
