Pioneering resilience and family

I read Kirstie’s book some years ago, so I was familiar with the story.
The story interweaves periods of time - from early pioneering days in the valleys around the Whanganui River valley to more recent times , reflecting culture and social norms
It is a great story - at times sad but always time marches on and the characters evolve and their history with them.
A good read for those interested in early New Zealand life
