About this listen

Katherine Woodville's sister never gave her a choice. A happy girl of modest means, Kate hardly expected to become a maker of kings. But when her sister impulsively marries King Edward IV in secret, Katherine's life is no longer hers to control.

Critic Reviews

"[Higginbotham] hits another historical high note in her latest fictional foray into the British monarchy. . . . This fictional prelude to the Tudor era will appeal to fans of Philippa Gregory's historicals." ( Booklist)

It’s both interesting and enjoyable to read well written fiction., especially about known historical people whose lives are always in the background of more famous people in the Royal Circles of history.
However 2 mysteries will always remain… what happened to the Princes? Why did Buckingham desert Richard? I like me this author’s take on the possibility that Buckingham did know what happened and why Richard remained silent during his arrest and execution.

Fascinating story, well told and imagined. The point of view narration was well done.
