Story
Sam Walsh is hanging on by a thread. He works hard at concealing his chronic illnesses and represses the lingering pains of childhood, but he's running out of vices to distract him from his wounds. Nothing feels good anymore. Not his prize-winning work preserving historic homes, not the family that refuses to give up on him even when he's at his most self-destructive. The only thing he wants is the conservatory-trained chaos he meets in a stalled elevator car. She's the friend he never asked for and can't imagine living without. Then, she's more than a friend. She's everything.

Story
A tough-as-nails businesswoman. An arrogant Navy SEAL. A power struggle with no end in sight. I wasn't always a bitch. There's a dirty little trick to succeeding in business: the sweet and innocent rarely survive. I fought my way up from nothing, and I don't bend for anyone. Until Will Halsted ties me to a headboard and makes me his...for now. One wild, filthy night turns into another, and then...we can't stop. Each time we're together is more addictive than the last, but it's nothing more than a sexy escape from reality.

Publisher's Summary
Patrick Walsh needs a win.
He needs a good year. He needs something to—finally—go his way. After their father's slow, angry death, the Walsh family's third-generation historic preservation architecture firm is back on its feet and Patrick finally stands at the helm.
Andy Asani is not what Patrick expected from an apprentice. First, she's competent. Not just that, she's scary-brilliant. Second, she's obsessed with historic preservation—and the only person outside of Patrick's partners who shares his passion for crumbling buildings. And most troubling of all, he's obsessed with her. He doesn't need her complicating his life but he wants her more than anything, and she might just cost him everything.
Andy Asani doesn't want to fantasize about her boss. She's not that girl and she doesn't want to turn into that girl. She's too busy kicking ass at her coveted apprenticeship and exploring the best Boston has to offer in hot yoga and cool nightlife. She's not going to throw any of that away because her boss won't stop rolling up his shirtsleeves and glowering at her.
Until she throws it all away. Their plans are about to undergo some major renovations.

I'm really enjoying the performance of both of the narrators of The Walshes, so happy that the same 2 are continuing for the whole series. Loved Patrick and Andy, and all the Walsh siblings in The Space Between, moving straight onto Necessary Restorations.

Great Banter and chemistry
The Space Between is the second book about the Boston Walsh family and their architecture firm. I enjoyed the big family dynamics and love the glimpses of each family member's life that runs through these books.
The story focuses on Patrick the "OptimusPrime" of the Walsh family. He has been unable to keep an assistant or apprentice without running them off. Things change with Andy's interview where she is ready for everything he throws at her.
"I couldn’t help it; lame responses kept spewing out while my brain fixated on that voice. If aged whiskey had a sound, it would be Andy’s voice, all heady and rich, with a slow burn as it went down."
With immediate chemistry, fun banter and texts Andy tries to resist a forbidden romance with her boss and all of the messy complications that can and will entail.
I can't wait to dive into the next story and reconnect with my new favorite Boston family.

Love the Walsh Family.
I’m addictive to this crazy, quirky and loving family. This series is giving me all the feels. I’m laughing so much, crying a time or two and I can’t stop reading/ listening to these books. I feel like the Walshes are my onion, each sibling has their own layer to peel and discover something amazing underneath. This author has become a one clicked for me.

Oldest Walsh brother Patrick gets a life
When Patrick Walsh meets Andi Asani he knows she is going to change his life. She’s a brilliant intern but very self contained, ambitious, and a bit secretive, with her own family issues His childhood from age 10 was terrible, and as the oldest brother he has had to deal with much of his siblings issues as the leader of the pack. His attraction to Andi is off the charts though so finding a way to work at their relationship is not an option. There is no real conclusion though as they are taking their relationship slowly which is frustrating from a romance point of view but is nicely realistic. Since there are plenty of other siblings there is sure to be more of this pair. Worth a credit.

It was disappointing
I was disappointed with this second installment of The Walsh series. I think the author writes well, but I could not like Andi, the h. She had "friends" she was disparaging of, she ran hot and cold sexually with her boss and was overall a very cold and boring character. I felt bad for Patrick, the H, until he started pushing their relationship too far into their professional world. Andi was just starting out in the profession, but Patrick was established, and her boss. And, all the spanking and biting was just...ugh.

Loving this series!
Each Walsh is extremely complex and broken, yet accomplished and successful. Learning more about this family is really a great journey. I love the strength of the female characters. Even though we all have our baggage and insecurities life is about learning and growing together, filling in the cracks. This series pulls that off flawlessly with some amazingly hot scenes to further invest you in their connection. Christian Fox and Lucy Rivers are excellent performers and I can't wait to continue through the series!

A steamy office romance you're gonna love.
Oh how I love a good workplace romance! It was so nice being back in the world of the Walshes. Andie aggressively interviews to be Patrick’s apprentice and of course gets the position. They work so well together and Patrick falls for her brain and her body, her heart and her soul. He’s a goner and even though she resists at first, ultimately fate sealed the deal for them. There’s a little bit of a mystery in this one and I was here for all the little breadcrumbs pointing towards the secrets being unearthed. The heat is nice and spicy too.
This is funny and feely all rolled into one and in true Kate style there are little quirky things throughout the book. I love that Andie is all about kooky knee socks. Aaaaand these guys are food truck aficionados, so I loved all the foodie talk too.
Lucy gives us all the sides of Andie and Christian plays Patrick perfectly. Another great audiobook in a fantastic series.
