Editorial reviews

The creator of maverick detective Harry Hole, Jo Nesbo, branches out in this standalone novel, The Son. Convict Sonny is a model prisoner on his best behaviour, acting as father confessor to his fellow inmates. When one man’s confession sheds light on the fate of Sonny’s father, Sonny is determined to break out of prison and uncover the truth once and for all, and to exact revenge… Every bit as gripping as the Harry Hole novels and Nesbo’s brilliant, darkly comic Headhunters, The Son is an excellent crime audiobook – Nesbo at his best. Quite an enjoyable story,.Good plot and characters have listened to a couple of her books and enjoyed them. Narration ok not the worst or the best. not enough to destroy the story.

Good story

I truly love the twists and turns in Jo Nesbo’s work but every time I have to say with them being in Norwegian, I do struggle to keep up with the characters first and surnames and keeping them in place. Fantastic story though, and Sean Barrett is a great narrator.

Great plot and story line

I really enjoy reading Jo Nesbo's novels and so far i read all of them. So I have it a try on audible with The Son. So disappointed! The narration / voice is barely understandable at some point and the accent is thick and make it even harder. Please ... change narrator to give Jo Nesbo's novels what they deserve!

Love the story ...can't stand the narration!

it took me a long time to get through this book due to interruptions but I enjoyed every minute of it, the author is able to create believable characters, very entertaining... surprising twist at the end! will listen again.
