About this listen

Some stains don't come out....

Raised in a household so filthy it was stomach-spilling, Vera involuntarily evolved into a neat freak. Upon discovering she and her disabled husband, Daniel, are expecting, she needs fast cash.

Her obsession with cleanliness sprouts the concept that her skills can be put to use in a unique way. She takes a stab at the booming door-to-door vacuum sales business of 1988.

All is going well until she arrives at the steps of a house that will change her forever. The steps of an evil that resurrects the ghastly memories she so desperately tried to wash away.

Nothing will prepare you for the nastiness, disorder, and sickening horror brought forth by...the Slob. The Slob has received critical praise and as a result has been nominated for the 2021 Splatterpunk Awards!

i absolutely love horror and gore, i tend to find that nothing seems to really throw me off. this book had me feeling physically unwell around half way through yet i couldn’t stop. i loved the beginning and getting to know the character and her back story but was thinking “oh if this is it it’s fine it’s just another book i was told was all kinds of fucked up that won’t scare me” boy was i wrong. it really isn’t for the faint hearted but if you’re looking to be disturbed, i highly recommend this one.

a very difficult book

I read this book as I came across it in a list regarding the most disturbing books;
I wasn’t as disturbed as I could be, though it definitely is gruesome and detailed and I would not want to be in this situation in real life at all!
Over all I think the word choices and the narrative displayed a different tone to the whole concept and I am going on to read the sequel, I recommend for those who aren’t easily offended/disturbed it’s definitely a test of strength to get through.

A disturbing tale for disturbed people

Okay so I'm rather new to the horror genre but I really liked this book.
the characters were well written and I really liked getting to know them.
If you're triggered by SA I definitely wouldn't recommend this.
I'm definitely buying more of Aron Beauregard's work.
I also found the Narrators voice soothing to me.

Wow
