From the critically acclaimed, bestselling author of Weyward: FOUR SISTERS, SEPARATED BY HISTORY, BOUND BY THE SEA

'Beautiful and magnificent' Jennifer Saint, author of ARIADNE

'A profoundly moving and rich historical story wrapped up in a contemporary murder mystery’ ROSIE ANDREWS, author of THE LEVIATHAN

When Lucy arrives at her sister’s house in a wild panic, she doesn’t find the solace she’s desperately seeking – only an abandoned house, in a town steeped in mystery.

As Lucy searches for her sister, instead she uncovers tales of missing men. Stories of women drowned just off the coast two hundred years before. Rumours of their voices on the waves.

Can the voices lead Lucy to her sister – or are they trying to pull them both under?

'I can't wait to see what Emilia Hart writes next' Kate Morton

Critic Reviews

‘I gulped THE SIRENS down like it was water… It’s a novel about the sea and the strength of women, about love and sisterhood, and an anger that’s wild and ferocious and unstoppable. Like the sea, it is by turns bleak and violent, but also beautiful and magnificent. It made me cry in public and not care' Jennifer Saint
'Enthralling, compelling, poignant … It made me cry on a railway platform’ BRIDGET COLLINS, author of The Silence Factory
‘Absolutely wonderful. It’s a profoundly moving and rich historical story wrapped up in a contemporary murder mystery’ ROSIE ANDREWS, author of The Leviathan
'This is one beautiful, brutal slow-burn of a novel’ HEAT
'With lyrical prose and rich world-building, this compelling and immersive novel will resonate with fans of magical realism and folklore inspired fiction' GLAMOUR
‘Full of allure and brimming with undercurrents of buried secrets… beautifully written and utterly compelling’ EVIE WOODS, author of The Lost Bookshop
‘What a gorgeous book this is … Wistful, haunting, drenched in seaweed and a frothy tide, a story about sisterhood and the ocean. Beautiful … I just loved it’ CJ COOKE, author of The Lighthouse Witches
'Evocative and compelling, The Sirens is a deeply layered mystery, and a luminous ode to the sea and sisterhood. Written with Emilia Hart's assured and shimmering prose, the story is as hopeful as it is heart-wrenching' LUCY CLARKE, author of The Hike
'An atmospheric and vivid tale' WOMEN'S WEEKLY
‘An absolutely immersive, utterly captivating puzzle box of a novel, both gripping and heart-wrenching. Hart is a gorgeously emotive storyteller – loved it!’ ELLERY LLOYD, author of The Club

Great writing but the concept was a little strange. Enjoyable listen even with the weird plot. Recommend for a summer read.

Interesting book with a weird twist

I feel like this story pierced the three quarter moon of the patriarchy. I loved the resonance of matriarchy and feminism - I loved the undulating rhythm of unconditional love. Yet, the splice almost, of perhaps a quarter moon or one such in eclipse, where there shines examples of masculinity; free from toxicity, imperialism, colonialism or Misogyny. For all females, a sliver of hope - so aptly referenced in the babe born.

Patriarchy flipped
