About this listen

The follow-up to the sensational #1 Sunday Times bestseller Her Majesty’s Royal Coven

All is not as it seems within the halls of Her Majesty’s Royal Coven…

Despite thinking they’ve thwarted the prophecy, the witches are still reeling from the events of the past few months.

Ciara now occupies her twin sister’s body as she prepares to take on the role of High Priestess. But why are the sinister government agents of the Shadow Cabinet so invested in her coronation?

And then there’s the small matter of Dabney Hale: freshly escaped from Grierlings prison, he’s on the hunt for a mythical object that will give him unimaginable power. Leonie’s brother is on the trail, but doesn’t know the danger he now faces, and so she sets off to bring him home and bring Hale to justice.

Meanwhile, Theo and Holly are left to their own devices. Theo to work out how her miraculous transformation took place and Holly to discover what’s going on with her mum and dad. Elle’s Instagram-perfect world is about to come crashing down in the most terrifying way.

Payback’s a witch as Ciara, Leonie, Elle, Theo and Holly are about to find out.

After finishing HMRC only 2 months before TSC was published; I was so excited to continue to see what the coven had ahead and wasn’t disappointed in the slightest. The modern references were absolutely spot on, and I had multiple teary moments as a queer woman.
Not only is Juno an incredible author, Nicola Coughlan is the PERFECT choice of narrator! I adored her narration in HMRC and was just as in love the second time around.
This series has bought me so much immense joy and I’m so thankful for that. 🌟🌙

Perfect author - perfect narrator.

It is safe to say I am hooked on this series. Totally wrapped up in it and can’t wait for the next instalment.

What a compelling story

If you love fantasy fiction you’ll love this series. If, like me, you’re a mature adult who longs to read stories with mature adult protagonists, you’ll love it more. And it keeps getting better. HMRC is an intersectional feminist’s dream series. So, if you’re someone who uses the word “woke” as an insult, $&@% off, you’re not welcome here lol. Anyone else whose interests include social justice and thumping good narrative, get on it!

Brilliant storytelling

Love the portrayal of strong, flawed characters. The mix of real life concerns & the supernatural is fascinating in the story line.

Love this series

This series is well worth your time, loved the second book as much as the first. Nicola Coughlan’s narration is fantastic.

So so good

Juno is an amazing writer, the second book is fast pace and picks up on different themes throughout. You dive beeper into a magical world and I can’t get enough. Looking forward to the third and final instalment!

She’s done it again

Such a good story. I was screaming throughout with anticipation and surprise
Cannot wait for book 3. I wish I had known about these later so I could binge the trilogy. I don’t think I can wait another year!

Nicola Coughlan should narrate everything

What a story! I’m not easily surprised, but these books had me asking what the &$?”! often. Great story, amazing performance. I can’t wait for the final book to come out.

The twists!

have you ever had a moment when you cried out 'yes!' and done a fist pump in satisfaction while reading or listening to a book? this story was just so satisfying and yet so twisty turning as it unfurled. can't get enough of HMRC.

fist pumping lyrics good.

What happened here with this book. HMRC was so great, but I think this one was rushed or badly edited or both? As the reader, you are forced to follow along with a horrible character, made to sympathise with her while she is a nihilistic, crass, pathetic demon junkie.
She's not truly chaotically evil, but neither does she care enough/soul search or have any remorse. So ridiculous 🙄

Leonie is off on some hunt for her brother? I'm sorry, who and why do we care? Also, why is she going on this mission officially? She's no event part of HMRC... this is such a weird choice?

Elle levels up quite a lot in this book, and I really enjoyed her arc except for her total acceptance of Ciara? Again, wtf?

I really liked Theo in this book. Her and Holly's story arc is great.

The whole "plot twist" cliffhanger ending... again... not done anywhere near as well as last time, it was confusing and cheap. Disappointed with this book big time. Chaotic and sloppy with a lot of the heart missing from HMRC.
