Summary

 Soviet Union, 1956: Stalin is dead. With his passing, a violent regime is beginning to fracture - leaving behind a society where the police are the criminals, and the criminals are innocent. Great book. Very intense all the way through. Very little chance to breathe. Lots of suspense and angst. Great action. Some great moral questions. Satisfying ending.

Great performance. I was sorry the Russian characters weren't read with a Russian accent. But I'm glad the narrator didn't attempt it if he wasn't confident he could get the accent right. A bad accent would've spoilt the fantastic performance, so in the end I was happy.
