Anna Hemingway decides it's time for a fresh start. So Anna and her three-year-old daughter move to a cottage in the village of Little Somerby, where she takes over the running of the village tea shop and they start to find happiness again. Throughout a whirlwind year, life blossoms. But when history seems to be repeating itself, Anna must find the strength to hold onto her new life.©2017 Fay Keenan (P)2017 W.F. Not much story. Very repetitive struggled to listen to it. No substance thought it started ok but just went no where.

Boring

I enjoyed the story but the recording was very quiet and I couldn’t hear it well through my bone conduction headphones. I didn’t like some of the voices for the characters but ignored that to hear the whole story.

Enjoyable and easy reading

I got almost half way through and really just didn’t care enough about the characters to keep going! When I read rather than listen I can speed read and skim and probably would have copied better with the slow (possibly slow-burn but I can’t be bothered to see if it builds up) nothing much actually happens story. And it’s irritating to have emotions spelled out again and again rather than indicated. It’s never “she gave a swallow” indicating emotion and you can guess it from the context, it’s always “she gave a swallow, the grief of loss piercing her heart etc”

Not bad but not great
