Publisher's Summary

The movie star and the dog groomer are one kiss away from the perfect love story. That’s the hiccup in a warm and witty romance by the bestselling author of Roommaid.

The meet-cute award goes to dog groomer Juliet Nolan. It’s one of Hollywood’s biggest nights when she volunteers as a seat filler and winds up next to movie heartthrob Noah freaking Douglas. Tongue-tied and toes curling in her pink Converse, she pretends that she doesn’t have a clue who he is. It’s the only way to keep from swooning.

She’s pretty and unpretentious, loves his dog, and is not a worshipping fan. No way Noah’s giving up on her, even if his affectionate pursuit comes with a bump: Juliet has a pathological fear of kissing and the disappointments that follow. What odds does romance have without that momentous, stupendous, once-in-a-lifetime first smooch? Patient, empathetic, and carrying personal burdens of his own, Noah suggests a remedy: they rehearse.

The lessons begin. The guards come down. But there’s another hitch they weren’t betting on. As for that cue-the-orchestra-and-roll-credits happy ending? It might take more than practice to make it perfect.

This book had exactly what I needed

I needed a light, FUNNY romance. I’ve been listening to all serious ones. Sariah never disappoints! This book has all the feels. My only request is she tries to begin making her books at least ten hours instead of 8ish. 😉☺️

Fun book terrible narrator

The book was fun but the narration really took away from the story. It felt like the narrator was read a manual on how to drive a car or something. It was stilted and unemotional. But the book was fun.

Fun, light, minor tear jerky

I really enjoy this author. Her stories are fun, light, with both teary eyed and laugh out loud moments. I even gasped once! Thanks so much.

Well

I didn't come into this book with high expectations, the story was predictable, the characters were basic.
Not much to it, but not the worst story.

Meh…

I rated it 3 ⭐️ because I wasn’t feeling this one. Overall the story was ok. It just wasn’t for me. I’m a little sad about that since I was looking forward to reading it.

The narrator was ok. She didn’t inflect much tone difference so it was more like she was just reading to the book into the microphone.

entertaining

this was an unusual meet cute, which I loved. her issues were definitely different too. Noah was a too good to be true character but I loved him anyway. I liked having her best friend so involved too. I don't know if she had her own book already or not. I've listened to a handful of books by this author so far and have enjoyed them all

I had to slow the audio a little with this one, but other than that, which is just personal preference anyway, the narator did a good job.

Great story to listen to

Sally Britton, one of my favourite authors featured this book on her newsletter as one of the books she enjoyed reading. I don't usually read any contemporary novels but on her recommendation that this was a sweet and clean read, I decided to give it a try. The Kindle Unlimited version has the audio book linked to it, so I decided to listen to the audio book instead. As a South African used to reading British English historical novels, I find it difficult to mentally process contempory American English, especially in written form, so the audio book was perfect.
I thoroughly enjoyed the story and the characters, and could not wait to hear what came next. So much so that I stayed up until 3am to finish the book.
I would definitely recommend the story and the audio reading.
