Publisher's Summary

This revolutionary primer on prosperity consciousness has been enriching millions since it was first published in 1910. It was, in fact, the inspiration for The Secret.

The way to prosperity is no longer a mystery. You too can prosper from the "exact science" of achieving financial success as you learn to:

  • Change your life by changing your thoughts
  • Attract the prosperity you deserve
  • Appreciate the opportunities that await you
  • Live true to the values most precious to you
  • Manage stress and self-defeating impulses that hold you back
  • Make the contribution to the world that only you can make, and enjoy the abundance you'll receive in return

Also includes these two prosperity bonuses:

Way to Wealth by Benjamin Franklin
The Way to Wealth, originally a preface to the 1758 edition of Franklin's beloved Poor Richard's Almanack, presents a brief fable of a local wise man, Father Abraham, quoting Poor Richard to an eager crowd. In this inspiring tale, Franklin steps out of the past and shares with you his famed maxims about wealth, knowledge, virtue and all other elements of business success. As Michelle Singletary wrote in a column about the book, " At just 30 pages, this pocket- size book takes less than an hour to read but will give you a lifetime of financial wisdom; that is if you're wise enough to follow the advice".

Message to Garcia by Elbert Hubbard
From a foreign correspondent and positive-thinking pioneer, this 1899 parable of wartime heroism imparts a powerful lesson on the benefits of taking initiative and responsibility in work and in life.

    The Inspiration for The Secret

This life changing audio is a must for anyone who wants to find the prosperity they deserve. It was named one of the all time best business books by Brian Tracy, and that's good enough for me!!! It also comes with 2 bonus books...a great deal!!

    Too bad..

Dr. Wallace's book "The Science of getting rich" is fantastic. However this version of it is difficult to listen to. The narrator is to fast and to monotone to pay attention to. I ended up purchasing another version, that I enjoyed much more.

    Faith Not Science

Beware: This book is the opposite of its title. If you are a religious person looking for a book about the integration of faith and prosperity, this book is for you. If you are a scientific person expecting a scientific study of wealth, this is not the book for you. (Instead it will piss you off.)

I do believe in the power of thought and visualization to bring about change in life, and that is a main premise of this book as well. What the author is actually looking to put forth, though, might better be called a "Law of Faith," as there is no scientific method outlined in this book. For great books on the actual Science of visualization, see The Talent Code by Daniel Coyle or Brain Rules by John J. Medina.

I do commend the author for the constructive ideas that he offers. For example, he believes that you must give to others by endowing what you produce with something of greater value than whatever monetary value your customer may give you. That's something we lose sight of in this economy as too often not enough attention is paid to the quality put into the products that we produce.

On the downside, though, the following is also an example from this book: to help the poor, don't give to charity because charity perpetuates the poor, but instead help people to learn how not to be poor. On its surface, the idea of teaching people how to rise above their circumstances and become a success is great, but he doesn't actually tell you how, only to tell the poor to visualize being rich. When this occurs, what usually happens is that people will not give money (because that's easy), but then not be able to figure out the later half, and as a result perpetuate poverty through both lack of action and lack of charitable contributions.

I would love to see what the author would discover if he actually cataloged a real scientific application of the principles in his book. Then, I think we would have a very compelling read indeed.

    Chris

Having first read all the books of Dr. Wayne Dyer, Dr. Deepak Chopra, Esther & Jerry Hicks and even Quantum Physicist Fred Alan Wolf, I can thoroughly recommend this book. This is “The Original” and considering it was written by Wallace D. Wattles nearly 100 years ago, his advanced thinking is pure genius. Well worth a try.

    Save Your Money!

This book was nothing more then philosophical, new age, mumbo jumbo. Total waste of time and money. Author offered no real practical or not commonly known information. Stay away!
If you want more solid information that will help you to get to financial independence, get a copy of books by David Bach or Robert Kiyosaki.

    Magic Is In The Air!

I discovered this book by accident, I'm so glad that I did, I'm able to listen to it most working days as I travel about.

Written in 1910 and it is timeless in its appeal. Anyone who wants to self-improve and wants to keep it simple then this wee gem is for you.

Kevin T Norris is a great narrator with a wonderful voice which is so easy to listen to. I searched the whole of Audible for him and found a total of four other titles which I also bought.

Do yourself a big favour: buy the book and listen to it as often as you can. Watch your life being transformed for the absolute better.

    The law of attraction

I bought this on audible as I am a huge believer in the law of attraction. This book is that message in its rawest form. I skipped the first chapter as it just didn't apply. It's also quite sexist but given the era it was created, it is no surprise. I prefer books by author Jack Canfield, but there are some gems in this book if you want to listen.
