About this listen

The rules of the running club are the same as they have always been: keep your breath steady, keep your mind sharp, record your laps! Only now there's a new one: don't get killed.

The wealthy community of Esperance is picture-perfect. Big houses, stunning views, beautiful people. A brand new running track for the local club to jog around in the evenings. From the outside, it looks like paradise.

But the women of the town know the truth: you can hide anything—from wrinkles to secrets from your past—if you have enough money.

You could even hide a murder.

The Running Club is the gripping, twisty thriller from the author of The Trivia Night, full of secrets, lies and reveals you won't see coming.

I quite enjoyed this listen so much so, that I would definately look at more of Ali Lowe's offerings. A group of highschool friends and acquintances with that familiar theme of trying to maintain facades with the in crowd, and the out crowd. Throw in a murder and you've got a recipe for a great story.

Did a good job developing the characters and setting. Esperance is another world from where I grew up. Story was good, if a little predictable. Performance and production are excellent.

Good Characters

I wish I’d read this as it’s a good story but some of the narrators speak in a awful over the top bogan accent- I wanted to skip through Freya’s chapters

Some of the narrators are grating

The way a book is read is so important and I had no internal complaints with this one. All the characters were very listenable. I couldn't help liking Carol. The story itself is great too.

Great Narration

Good twists and turns - especially at the end.
Most of the characters are pretty unlikeable and that’s ok! Enjoyed the performance as well

Overall a good thriller
