About this listen
When a mint copy of the final album by Valerian - England's great lost rock band of the 1960s - surfaces, all hell breaks loose. Finding this record triggers a chain of events culminating in our hero learning the true fate of the singer of Valerian, who died under equivocal circumstances just after...or was it just before the abduction of her two-year-old son?
Along the way the Vinyl Detective finds out what happened to the missing child, and it wasn't what anyone expected - or wanted - to hear.

A crime novel with a sense of humour.

But then it really went down hill. The bizarre fatphobia focus left a bad taste in my mouth, especially since it was coming from every character, including the narration. And then this one side character felt like they were just there to be a punching bag, but I never felt like it gave the reader a reason to hate the character, but it also never gave us a reason to like them. At the end, plot twist, that character was very important, but not in a way that explains why the book was so mean about this one character. I kinda guessed what was going on, purely because that character was so weirdly written and incorporated into the story.
Dunno if I'll keep up with the series now. I was interested in seeing how they continued this idea, but after seeing how the first continuation went, it kinda ruined the intrigue for me.
huge disappointment after the first one
