Narrator has gravelly voice

It's hard to very understand at faster than 1.25 speed. Otherwise he's a good storyteller.

Awesome Book

The story is timeless and is as applicable in today's economy as in the days of Babylon. The narration was very textured and compelling. I highly reccomend this book!

Entry level book - hard to listen too

I rarely write book reviews and have listened to aprox 40 books on audible. I purchased this one because it had a number of great reviews and I was looking for a good book.
The story itself is unique and fairly interesting, you will get some insight into Babylonian history. At the time it was written in the 1920s I can see it being very useful. However in the present day in age look elsewhere. There are numerous other texts that will give the same information in more useful present day language. If you like reading books with old English, this is the book for you. Lots of thee and they(s) to satisfy your interest. For everyone else makes the text difficult to listen to. The information is basic and delivered in a story format using situational characters and plots. Making the ideas potentially easier to stick with you and more enjoyable to listen to than dry text. However the names of the characters are ancient aerobic, making it much like reading-from the Old Testament without having heard it numerous times hard to followed who is who.
The narrator has a beautiful baritone voice and I can see why he was selected. It doesn’t work for this book, too many thee and they hard to distinguish. At times I had my volume cranked up trying to hear what was said.
The gist of the information is basic, don’t spend to much, work hard, save a part of what you earn, don’t get into debt. Unfortunately the money is all in copper silver and gold. It is easy to have a grasp of what value that is but difficult to translate into todays economy. Was having 50 gold equal to a million dollars?

My advice take a pass find something else.

Good but not the best.

Excellent book with invaluable lessons but the narrator is very monotone and droning. I found it very hard to listen to.
