About this listen

When a dream trip becomes your worst nightmare...

You’ve been excited about this getaway for months–at last, a chance to reconnect with your husband at a secluded island resort. But when he unexpectedly calls you from the beach, you hear the urgency in his voice. Something is very wrong.

The beautiful waitress from the restaurant last night has been found lying dead in the sand. And the police want to question your husband about it.

Sure, you saw him glance at her over dinner a few times, but you know he didn’t have anything to do with the poor girl’s death. So why is he asking you to lie to the police that he was with you all night? And where did he go in those missing hours?

When he returns to your beautiful sea-view suite, things get heated and he accuses you of being jealous, just like he always does. Yes, the waitress was overly flirtatious with your husband, but you didn’t actually wish her any harm. Not really.

Can you trust the man you married...or are you the one who can’t be trusted?

Perfect for fans of Gone Girl, The Hunting Party, and The Girl on the Train.

A great mystery, all the way to the end. Some parts could have been sharpened up but overall very enjoyable.

Really enjoyed this!

This was an engaging thriller from the very first page. Twists and turns so you never knew what really happened until the end.

The narrator was very pleasant to listen to.

I can't particularly say that I enjoyed this one. I'll admit that, after pushing through the first hour or two, I felt obligated (mostly out of curiosity) to see it through if only to find out what happens, but I'm not sure it was worth it. You're presented with three couples on holiday at the sane resort, each with their own issues, both individually and in their relationships. The story is told from the perspective of the three women, who spend the entire time critisizing their partners for every inadequacy they feel, every feeling they feel, and every bad choice they themselves make. The women are portrayed as being complex, while the men are either dimwitted, cruel or just lustful, with no depth at all. The endless misandry gets really grating with time, especially when the men are frequently proven right, but of course the men are made out to be the villains in the end, just to justify everything the women thought about them.

So much toxicity and misandry in one story!

This book was more about some soppy wife’s who have issues with their arrogant egotistical husbands. Easy to listen too but definitely not a -sitting-at-the-edge-of-your-seat thriller. Very very average.

Not really a thriller
