This book is akin to revelations from the bible, it’s narrative elements play out like Goethe’s Faust and its poetry similar in style to Psalms. It is however a type of dream biography, a narrative dialogue between characters representing temptation and the other a human soul. And if left as is this description would be an over simplification of this work and do it ill justice, as the content is far more complex then a simple “fictional” narrative for unlike his other works (some of which I have become familiar and fond of) this one stands alone. Raw testimony of a psychic journey into the inner workings of Jung’s problem solving process. Theology, the existence of a human soul, Satan, Hamartiology are but some of the topics he struggles with but it’s not the content so much as his style of delivery that’s impressive as most authors would omit certain personal/private elements not Yung.
