About this listen

The heart-rending conclusion to the New York Times bestselling Crimson Moth duology that began when a heartless hunter met a rebel witch…

‘Enchanting and deeply romantic’ REBECCA ROSS

A witch. A witch hunter. A love so deadly it could set the world on fire…

Rune Winters is on the run from the republic who condemned her and the boy who betrayed her. Her friends, her home, and the life she knew are lost.

An ocean away, her only ally is the unlikeliest one: Cressida Roseblood, the deposed witch queen intent on taking back what she thinks hers – the crown, the country, and Gideon Sharpe with it.

Gideon will not allow the terrors of his past to rise again, even if this means hunting down every last witch. But there is only one witch who holds the key to Cressida’s return…and Gideon’s heart.

And he will stop at nothing to find her. Rune Winters will meet her end. Even if it ends him too.

*The Crimson Moth is published as Heartless Hunter in North America.*

Editorial Review

Corrupt witches and heartless witch hunters
Kristen Ciccarelli’s Heartless Hunter reeled me in for its creative world of blood-drawing witches and the delightful game of cat and mouse between secret witch Rune Winters and witch hunter Gideon Sharpe. In Rebel Witch, the conclusion to the Crimson Moth duology, the stakes are even higher and the games have turned into war. It’s hard to know which side you want to win—they all have issues—but what I do know is that I’m going to be having a great time listening to Grace Gray’s melodic narration as the trickery amps up and we find out which side Gideon and Rune are going to fight for. —Melissa B., Audible Editor

Perfection. This duology was all I needed and more! I was so swept away in this story and world that I found it hard to resurface. I could live here forever!

A dramatic and compelling second book. It made me laugh and cry. I felt like my body had been pulled through the pages along with the characters. Wonderful character development that kept me reading to the very last word.

Highly recommend

A thrilling, emotional finale to The Crimson Moth duology. Rune and Gideon’s story is full of magic, heartbreak, and redemption. The world expands, the romance deepens, and the tension never lets up.

LOVED LOVED LOVED, dark, romantic, and beautifully satisfying.

I’ve been eagerly waiting for this book and the conclusion to the Crimson Moth duology for a long time, and it lived up to my expectations. The ending I had been hoping for was delivered. Rune and Gideon’s journey was emotionally taxing, as they were constantly confronted with obstacles from the world around them. Check your trigger warnings before reading.

Loved Rune and Gideon just as much as the first book. Such clever “Easter eggs” and storytelling.

What a plot twist

I couldn’t stop listening and finished in 24 hours. Exciting storyline and the narrator was so easy to listen to. Would recommend.

It’s not often that the second book in a series is better than the first but this book did just that. A great read and a good ending to an amazing series.

One of the best books I’ve read

Power of love

4 stars! The story was amazing, the relationships, the arcs, the characters, everything. The only reason why it wasn't 5/5 stars was because I found some explanations being so vague it didn't do much justice to understanding the situation more and some of the plot was slightly droning on. But other than that… absolutely AMAZING!

Amazing!
