Worst 4 chapters I have ever heard. In my life.
I tried. I really did. But from the moment I heard the narrator's breathy, drawn out, ridiculous poorly acted voice, I knew I was in for a struggle. Whoever told her she had a voice and reading style suitable for audio lied to her.
I thought I'd mistakenly selected from a book written in the 1960s - I even opened the title details to check! Who writes a female character these days who STAMPS HER FOOT?!! Who has so little personality, gumption, backbone - friggin common sense! - as to be so insipid, and frankly stupid?
This has to be one of those self published books, right? Where an independent editor has never actually read this book before it was launched onto the unsuspecting reading community?
Seriously insulting to every female, everywhere.
I wanted to scream at how pathetic every word, ever action, every thought that character had. No wonder misogyny is on the rise when authors - A FEMALE NO LESS! - creates this character, in a modern setting, and thinks it's reflective of a 21st century woman!
Please. Please. Stop writing.
