Publisher's Summary

The Rainbow Cedar is the journey of one woman struggling with the loss of love and commitment from one, and the possibility of finding it all again with someone new.

As interior designer Jay Burns watches her long-term relationship slowly unravel, she runs into - literally - landscape designer Drew Montgomery. As their paths cross, both professionally and personally, a friendship develops, one they each try to maintain despite the obvious attraction between them. But still, Jay is not willing to throw away an eight-year relationship, even when it becomes painfully obvious the end is near.

Missed the Mark

I want to start by saying I am a big fan of Gerri Hill. Many of her books are read and performed by Abby Craden who is in the top 3 of best narrators on Audible. Gerri really missed the mark with this book, although the characters were for the most part were well developed. The storyline depicted one of the MC being extremely weak and her new girl crush did nothing to stand up for her in any of the situations. This is first time I struggled to finish one of Gerri's books. I am not saying the writing is bad but this book causes so much frustration and depicts a very weak and somewhat pitiful underdog who never even defended herself. I was waiting for this huge scene to finally take place telling Katherine off and Katherine understanding what she had lost, but there was just nothing there. We all know what Gerri is capable of but making someone so weak and somewhat helpless was just not appealing. I am excited for her next book as I don't think this is something she will do again.

Wish it were two hours longer story

Fun plot twists. No spoilers here though. Light weight, but enjoyable listen. Maybe, not so plausible, but entertaining.

needed an epilogue

I hated the abrupt ending. I really needed an epilogue to wrap this nicely. I get the gist but seriously, that ending was to abrupt after all the drama happening in the last hour of the book. if that. ugh

Excellent.

I loved The Rainbow Cedar. I loved the interaction between Jay and Drew. Abby Craden knocks the narration out of the park, as usual.

As usual Gerri Hill did it again. But would have loved an Epilogue. And Abby Craden is just amazing hands down!!

Another Great One By Gerri Hill

Enjoyable MC and I was pleasantly surprised to hear Jay and Drew pop up in Midnight Moon as well. Recommended read and again anything with Abby Craden is worth all of my time.

Swoon

I really needed this story. Abby Craden's best because she doesn't give a deep voice to Drew. She sounds like an actual person instead of relaying butch.
