Praying for Rain Synopsis
“None of this matters, and we’re all going to die.”

With only three days left until the predicted apocalypse, the small town of Franklin Springs, Georgia, has become a wasteland of abandoned cars, abandoned homes, abandoned businesses, and abandoned people. People like Rainbow Williams.

Rain isn’t afraid of dying. In fact, she’s looking forward to it. If she can just outrun her pain until April 23, she’ll never have to feel it at all.

"Supplies. Shelter. Self-defense."

Wes Parker has survived every horrible thing this life has thrown at him with nothing more than his resourcefulness and disarming good looks. Why should the end of the world be any different? All he needs are some basic supplies, shelter, and a sucker willing to help him out, which is exactly what he finds when he returns to his hometown of Franklin Springs.

As society crumbles, dangers mount, and secrets refuse to stay buried, two lost souls are thrust together in a twist of fate - one who will do anything to survive and one who can’t wait to die.

Perhaps, together, they can learn how to live.

Before their time runs out.

Excellent storyline!

I listened to this first book in Audible, and I really wanted to DNF simply because the male narrator was driving me crazy how slow he spoke! But the story was so good, I couldn't stop!! (I know, I should've just stopped and read it instead, but I was in the middle of moving and didn't have time to sit and read an actual book! Lol)
My actual point here is, this book was amazing and you need to read it! It was a beautifully sad story, mixed with a glimmer of hope. Dark and despairing, with moments of humor, 2 broken people who find each other at the end of the world. Can't wait to READ book 2!! ☺

Worth the read,

Actually enjoyed the 1st book the 2nd book was a big Effie wasn't quite sure how I felt about it the 3rd book pissed me off. The 3rd book reminded me of the purge and The Hunger Games wrapped into one book,

Quin book 2 she is a bitch but I am glad she helped Rain out in book 3.

I am super happy about the end they would have probably been very pissed off had the main character died.

I love Alex Kydd (his voice is sexy as hell) but he really shouldn't do girl voices lol!!

The Rain Trilogy Box Set

The Rain Trilogy Box Set (Praying for Rain / Fighting for Rain / Dying for Rain) is a dystopian romance trilogy. A pre, during and post apocalypse new world detailed very descriptively and vividly. The authors writing style is analytical. The story is sensibly plotted and the timelime coincides with each book in the series. Myriad of action, angst, drama, suspense and unexpected twists. Ends with a great epilogue.

Madeleine Dauer, Alex Kydd dual narration brought the story out in a realistic way. Madeline Dauer's inflection is unique and fit what I would expect Rain's character to be. I enjoyed listening to her narration. Alex Kydd's inflection is different and feels unprofessional but it maybe the way he wants to come off as playing the character. In the beginning he was difficult to listen to but as the story progressed you get used to his inflection and think of him as Wes.

Overall a entertaining listen well worth your time.

Couldn't finish due to the male performer

I was really excited to read this story and was starting to get into it, until the male narrator started. He sounds like a 60+ burned out surfer and I just couldn't get past that. I only got about a third of the way into the story and I had to stop because there was just something about his performance that was like nails on a chalk board to me. The book seems to have an interesting story line, so I will get the book and read it myself. I am sorry about the review and look forward to finishing the story..... minus the audio.

What Would You Do In The End of The World?

This was my first BB Easton book but it will not be my last! This story had me on the edge of my seat and I am not normally one for apocalyptic reads, but I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this story. Easton gave us humor, loss, grief, hope, joy, so many emotions, throughout the story and they were all so well placed. I loved listening to this as a complete set because I did not have to wait to find out what happened next to Wes and Rain. I cannot recommend this high enough for readers who love a romance that’s just outside of the box!

Great Read

The Complete Rain Trilogy was a good read by B.B. Easton. This box set consists of; Praying for Rain, Fighting for Rain, and Dying for Rain. Praying for Rain was another great read by BB Easton. This is the first book in the Praying for Rain Trilogy. There is only three days left until the apocalypse. People are having vivid dreams about the four horsemen coming to kill them. The residents of Franklin Springs, Georgia have abandoned their homes, cars and the ones they love. They have resorted to killing each other and looting the businesses. Rain is not afraid of dying, in fact she is looking forward to it. She meets Wes when he saves her life as people are attacking her. He is just trying to survive one more terrible thing. Wes and Rain are two lost should who may now learn how to live. Fighting for Rain was another great read by BB Easton. For everyone still alive, they believed that the world was supposed to end on April 23. Unfortunately for Rainbow, her world ended days before that when her father killed her mom and tried to kill her as well. The apocalypse claimed everything she loved including her will to live. Wes didn't have anything left for the apocalypse to take until her found Rainbow. They fell in love quickly and were prepared to die together on April 23. They never expected that the apocalypse was a farce and they would live to see April 24. Dying for Rain (The Rain Trilogy Book Three) was another great read by BB Easton. Wes and Rain find themselves alive in a post apocolyptic world. The new world has no laws and is the most ruthless place around. The government has started holding daily televised executions for anyone who has tried to save another person rather than letting them die. Rain finds herself pregnant and facing the possible death of the one man that she loves. Rain must decide if she will sacrifice Wes' life to save others. I absolutely loved reading this book and lovedthis trilogy. I can't wait to read more by BB Easton.

A Magnificent Trifecta! Awesome Series & Listen🎧📚🎧

Wow, I just devoured this series, the story captivated my attention from the very beginning and held it straight to the end. BB Easton is a gifted author and it is great to see another side of her brilliant mind. There is great world building and character development, she created a fascinating and imaginative world with characters that are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with. I adored the two lead characters, Rainbow “Rain” Williams and Wesson “Wes” Parker, they are two people from different upbringings who bond under desperate circumstances when the rug is pulled out from everyones lives. It is hard to not fall in love with these two characters, I admired them for so many reasons, their ability to never give up on life, their bravery and then their ability to think of others. There are some great secondary characters as well. The Rain Trilogy is comprised of three books, “Praying for Rain”, “Fighting for Rain” and “Dying for Rain”. The story is set in Franklin Springs, Georgia and the end of the world as people knew it would be over forever. I will not include any more details to prevent spoilers but will say the story is cleverly plotted, each book follows the other timeline wise and must be read in order to get the most of it, the ending is epic as is the lead up to it which IMO is the entire series. There is never a dull moment it contains plenty of drama, angst, action, twists and turns, thrilling and suspenseful moments, heartfelt and emotional moments and a fantastic romance. BB Easton, thank you for this awesome story and the emotional rollercoaster ride. Nineteen hours of entertainment and I loved every word of it!

🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Madeleine Dauer and Alex Kydd are talented narrators and versatile voice artists. They did an awesome job bringing the characters to life, giving each their own voice and personality. Their portrayal of the each character was spot on, they took each role and made it their own, sounding believable and just as I picture them to sound. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all of the characters emotions and projected them into their performance. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for the awesome listen🎧

Survival of the fittest!!

BB Easton causes one to think about what society would be like if government officials tricked the human race into eliminating a large percentage of the population while convincing them that it’s really only survival of the fittest!! Wes and Rain’s story demonstrates how the corruption and greed of trusted officials fuel the lawlessness of society. What’s great about this storyline is the love between Wes and Rain is still able to bloom and inspire others even though there is destruction, desperation and determination to survive! Madeleine Dauer and Alex Kydd are both new narrators to me. Their performances took a little bit to adjust to but by the end of the audiobook was okay. Overall, this was a good listening experience.

Praying for rain

This one certainly rain the emotions down. I’m not usually interested in dystopian romance novels however I kept hearing how stunningly amazing this book is. So I took a chance and I certainly do not regret my decision. As the secrets and emotions seep out of this novel it is nearly impossible to pause. The characters were so well written and the storyline was clearly well thought out and planned. This isn’t a book that left me thinking what have I just been reading this was a book that I loved. I almost felt like I was there.

The narration helped to lift this story to the very next level. They were just perfect and I loved every second of this book, even as it ripped out my heart in places and in others left me fearing for the characters. This is a book that is not easy to put away, it lingers even still in the back of my mind and I know I will have to do a re listen in the very near future. I couldn’t recommend it any more and it may have even convinced me to read/ listen to more dystopian romance.
