About this listen

The Book of Psalms is a book in both the Hebrew and Christian Bibles consisting of 150 poems originally written to be chanted or sung and accompanied by musical instruments. In fact, the word "psalm" comes from the Greek word "psalmoi", meaning "songs sung to a harp". In content they express virtually the entire range of the Jewish religious experience and faith.

The Psalms are thought to have been written in the first millennium before Christ, perhaps earlier. Although many of the Psalms are attributed to David, doubts persist. Whoever the authors may have been, the collected poems are a powerful testimony to the faith of the Jewish people. They weave a spell of spiritual longing and hope that endures to the present day among people of many faiths.

A very good reader! Wonderful performance of the holy Psalms. It is not Americanized. Which is crucial to avoid.

Very good reading of the Psalms
