About this listen

Evil is rising. And time is running out.

Emmy Award winner Kerry Washington returns as Dr. Virginia Edwards in Audible’s heart-pounding supernatural thriller that pits faith against fear and pushes the fate of humankind to the edge.

The battle between good and evil continues as Virginia and her infant son Joshua flee from Detroit, pursued by the sinister Luther Bell (Giancarlo Esposito) and his Morning Stars cult. With her estranged husband Ryan and Moses (Dulé Hill), a devotee with a mysterious past, Virginia finds unlikely allies in Samson (Rhenzy Feliz) and Delilah (Ebony Obsidian). Together, they uncover the truth about Joshua's place in an ancient prophecy. Each perilous step of their journey is guided by Virginia's haunting visions while Bell's forces close in, threatening to tear their world apart. As natural disasters erupt, Virginia must embrace her role as both mother and chosen protector. But will it all be too late?

Editorial Review

It’s the end of the world…unless she can stop it
Kerry Washington returns as Dr. Virginia Edwards in the second season of this supernatural thriller. Fully immersive, edge-of-your seat action doesn’t let up as you follow Virginia on the run from a culty politician with a cadre of fanatic followers at his beck and call. Luckily, Virginia now has a collection of friends to help her hide as she grapples with the implications of the foretelling that’s put a target upon her and her newborn son, who may be the key to stopping the escalating natural disasters that plague the world. The full cast includes such notables as Giancarlo Esposito, Dulé Hill, Rhenzy Feliz, Guillermo Diaz, Ebony Obsidian, and Yvette Nicole Brown. Blending Bible stories with modern-day conflict, my jaw dropped as the twists and turns kept coming—and then concluded with an explosive ending.—Melissa B., Audible Editor

Season 1 was much better. Season 2 felt derailed and disconnected from the first season, with none of the voice actors apart from Kerry Washington. The plot also was too overcooked and didn't feel suspenseful and felt too convenient.

Good acting, ok plot and storytelling

Ill keep this short. I had to stop listening to this. I'll history say, I just came from listening to the Bobiverse by Dennis E. Taylor. it was do gripping. Felt like the good old days of writing. Like old star trek but better. Never once did I scoff at any modern politics or victimhood. I didn't realise it had none of that at all until I finished the whole 5 book series. I realised, wow, writing is alive and well we just have to sift through all the low hanging fruit stuff. Aaaand that brings us here. I can remember when I listened to the first series of Prophecy. I wasnt blown away by the story, but the performances were good. In the back of my mind im always aware of certain tropes and am aware this is definitely a certain complex some people have , the Jesus complex is mean. but over all i think i enjoyed. it. Fast forward to now, and in THE FIRST SECONDS we already have a racist white cop. whos, you guessed it , racial profiling. Man, that is just lazy. then a few minutes in we have the 'i have a child' and three evil president or whoever (at this stage i dont care). im sick of modern politics. absolutely sick of it. as soon as I get a whiff of it, EVEN IF thr performances are good. I'm out. I checking out asap. I only kept listening for 30 mins cos I was travelling. couldn't turn it off. but that 30 mins just proved my suspicions.
is that all these people think about ??? race ???
is that why the stories are never really nuanced and multi levelled and exciting. just like Taylor , and Bobby Adair etc ?? so detailed and lived.

anyway. rant over. checking out now.
I guess this story suits people who just like that leaning politically speaking. they'll just think its 'normal'.

More divisive nonsense
