Publisher's Summary
From number-one New York Times best-selling author and Edgar Award winner Alex Berenson comes a supercharged thriller about marriage and the dangerous secrets spouses keep.
Rebecca and Brian Unsworth appear to have it all. A nice house in the suburbs of Washington, DC. Two well-behaved, healthy teenage children. Important government jobs - Rebecca working in counterterrorism for the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Brian serving as a coder for the National Security Agency. Their lives stand to improve even more as Brian, in his off-hours, has just developed and sold a highly profitable app.
However, the Unsworths’ marriage isn’t as perfect as it seems. After two decades together, they’ve drifted apart, talking little and having sex even less. Seeking to revive their strained relationship, they decide for their 20th wedding anniversary to take their two kids, Kira and Tony, on a European getaway.
They have a blast…until one night in Barcelona when Kira doesn’t come home from a dance club. She’s gone. Abducted. Over the course of a single weekend, the Unsworths will do everything possible to find her - as Kira herself discovers just how far she’ll go to break free of the trap that’s been set for her. And even as Rebecca and Brian come together for Kira, they realize their marriage is more tenuous than they realized.
The Power Couple is both a fast-paced, globe-trotting espionage novel full of surprising twists and a nuanced look at modern marriage - the challenges of balancing career, parenthood, sex, and love.

Excellent! Superb writing and story telling. Alex Berenson delivered again
This book received 15 stars because it deserved all of them. The story was engaging and fast paced. The characters very well developed and relatable. Twists and turns throughout kept me wanting more. Narration was superb. Very well done all the way around and I highly recommend!

He’s done it again.
America’s preeminent thriller writer has come out with a nasty, fantastic bit of darkness. As much an autopsy of a troubled marriage as a straight ahead kidnapping plot this book does not lack for surprises.
A great and earned ending.

Great book
It’s certainly a shame that politics have blacklisted you. I thought that ended in the ‘50’s. But the Lib’s have certainly resurrected that ugly past. I found your book exciting and what a twist at the end. I must admit I bought it because I saw you on FOX and thought how unfairly you were treated. And you were for you are a very talented author!

Great rainy day read
I did not think I would like the book the first chapter in, but by the second chapter I was hooked.
It is interesting and thought provoking, moves at a good speed and the ending was a surprise.

poor writing
The writing is just poor quality. That's the worst thing about the book. The characters are also unappealing. I didn't care what happened to any of them. The daughter's scenes often weren't plausible. The sexual references were gratuitous and cheesy. Lastly, the reader was painful to listen to most of the time. His style tends to the hyperventilating too much of the book. I'd have returned (exchanged) this book but Audible has told me they don't like my doing so.
