About this listen

In the final book of John Christopher's classic series, Will Parker returns to the headquarters of the Resistance after several months in the City of Gold and Lead. He travels to Eastern Europe and the Middle East to set up resistance cells with young boys who question the power of the Tripods.

When they are able to capture one of the Tripod 'Masters', they unlock a secret that they use in attempt to finally wrest control of the earth from the Tripods, and maybe - just maybe - save humanity.

At the risk of using the word 'fantastic' too much I really have no other choice. This book brings to a conclusion the amazing semi-scifi world created in the first 2 books. William Gaminara is an outstanding narrator and has performed consistently and at a high standard through the entire series. The depth in this book, especially the ending, has a lot more significance to me now as an adult than it ever did as a teen. So glad I picked this up and re-read it these years later.

Fantastic finish

A gripping production that had my boys captivated. There were howls of protest each night when I stopped the story.
