About this listen

After setting out to break the curse that binds them together, the pirate Ananna and the assassin Naji find themselves stranded on an enchanted island in the north with nothing but a sword, their wits, and the secret to breaking the curse: complete three impossible tasks.

With the help of their friend Marjani and a rather unusual ally, Ananna and Naji make their way south again, seeking what seems to be beyond their reach. Unfortunately, Naji has enemies from the shadowy world known as the Mists, and Ananna must still face the repercussions of going up against the Pirate Confederation.

Together, Naji and Ananna must break the curse, escape their enemies - and come to terms with their growing romantic attraction.

The performance was decent. The main character was irritating. She was self absorbed and didn't show basic empathy to her companion. The cat was alright. Won't listen to again.

Not great.

I’ve seen a lot of bad reviews from parents because apparently it was labeled as a children’s book on audible. It is most definitely a YA book. And a sequel at that. Please look books up on goodreads first if you’re going to read them to your kids.
I really enjoyed this sequel. More then the first book. Mainly because it was filled with more pirates.

Pirate filled YA

Poorly written. Sex and profanity were unnecessary in the story, particularly as it is marketed as a children's book. I'm glad I listened to it before letting my son do so.

NOT a children's book!

You should be at least 13 to listen to it’s a bit Unappropriated it’s not a kid’s book at all but a good teen book

I liked it, the story is engaging and the characters are fun
I just found it weird that it was classified as children’s fiction when it is DEFINITELY YA. There is implications of sexual acts so parents definitely not CHILDRENS fiction

YA not children’s fiction

The kids were enjoying it but I soon noted the language is inappropriate for a 7 and 10 year old, as the "f" word was used. Wasn't that happy audible classified it as children's fiction

Not child appropriate

Performance of this book was good. The storyline however was all over the place. I wouldn’t read it again.

Storyline was all over the place

Has the F work and a couple of others, then mentioned a sexual situation...most definitely needed to turn if off then with my 6 and 8 year olds listening.

Not appropriate for 8-10 year olds
