Publisher's Summary

Return to Lake View Middle School in the third book of the PERFECT SCORE series from the beloved author of Because of Mr. Terupt.

Eighth grade promises to be an unforgettable year of tears, laughter, surprises, and star power.

GAVIN's days of football glory have arrived, but an accident on the home front upends his family. Ever enterprising, NATALIE anchors a morning news broadcast at school - where she's unafraid to tackle big issues. Being on the outs with his best friend sucks, but the more TREVOR tries to patch things up, the worse things get. Sidelined with a gymnastics injury, RANDI develops a bad attitude and worries that her mom's new boyfriend means changes she won't like. SCOTT discovers hidden talents...and becomes a secret weapon on and off the football field.

It's the final year of middle school - a time to play hard, smart, and together!

Feminist + woke ruined a bad story

The author went woke as hard as he could,

He deals with illegal immigration, consent and sexism and toxic Masculinity. You know how woke the author is because none of the female (read Mary sue) face any consequences because of their own actions. Trevor got a lecture about how he must ask Natalie if it was okay to kiss her, and yet guess what she does? Plants a big kiss on Trevor's lip, yet he's all excited, doesn't wondering where the double standard comes and how i's fair. The kids vanish, illegal driving a car, sneaking on board he train with only three tickets instead of four and yet justifies how it's acceptable.

The author spends much pages decrying how male are stupid and bullies and yet Natalie is a bully and doesn't get call out for it. once. She breaks the rules with the help of her mother. And yet nothing happens. Scot the beta-male does something that should have earned him expulsion but the author just can't bring anything bad to happen to the "woke" kids and the good little feminists boys.

I really liked Randi as a character but not in this book, She pouts throws any gains she aand ehr motehr made in repairing their relationships out because he doesn't like she doesn't like her mom's boyfriend and why? Well it comes bak to the selfishness, the trouble of Mary suees, they aren't ever held to account and has everything work out in their favors. Instead of just talking to her Mm and telling her mom what she's afraid of she's never made to deal with the fact that he mother gets to have a life no matter ho pouty her daughter wants to be. Even the potential danger was anticlimactic because I knew the author didn't have the guts to eliminate the good little feminists he turned the men into I'm done with the author, this is the problem with modern books, the desperate inclusion to have feminists removes any danger faced by females except from approved toxic masculinity and even that danger is passing because I know they'll slip out of i and maybe spend the book moaning about how horrible it was to face down "real" danger.

I'm done with the author.
