About this listen

I don't do boyfriends. Or dating. Or random hookups.

Not when fictional men do it so much better, and not when my heart has been through the wringer. So when retired MMA fighter Matt Haywood crashes into my life, I'm not impressed. Quite the opposite actually. I avoid him at all costs.

At least, I try.

His persistence wears me down, and it's me who ends up wandering into his gym looking for more. I have to admit he's nothing like I assumed. He's witty and smart. His physical condition could win awards. Problem is, somewhere between rolling around on the mats together, I let down my guard.

I thought I was over relationships. That I'd never risk my heart again. But he's out to prove it's never too late for a comeback.

Contains mature themes.

I don’t mind an easy, fun loving book, but the characters were frustrating with their lack of communication and sooking. It was a struggled to finish. Parts of the reading annoyed me. If you’re after a book you don’t need to concentrate much on, go for it.

Struggled to finish this

Mia isn't like other girls. And she will gladly tell you.
Ugh. I loathe NLOG (not like other girls) energy. Her being 34, single and a cat owner doesn't make her the unicorn of women.
I like other parts of Mia's personality. Her feminist mouth is fun to listen to.
I like her bestie, Jared, but he's very pushy with Mia, like when he almost wouldn't let her get on her bus until she told him where she was going.
Matt is a nice guy without telling you he's a nice guy.
I'm not sure their chemistry hits for me.
Mia's back and forth about what she wanted and didn't want and thought Matt was or wasn't doing, gave me whiplash. It was like she couldn't decide if she felt like she did because she did or because she thought she should.

Average.

Matt, a really nice guy both inside & out is the vibe I get early on, and the vibe isn't wrong, but boy oh boy has & does he do it hard! The geek very talented rather out there girl living in her bubble with her few besties, has become outwardly emotionally hard & at times harsh, which has me wondering why .... thanks author Kacey Shea I thoroughly enjoyed this story & thank you Stephen Dexter & Virginia Rose for your great narration.

Such a great listen!

Mia is a pain in the ass. Matt is a nice guy who shouldn't have to chase a woman who doesn't know what she wants and flip flops based on nothing. his attraction mostly seems to be based on her being hot and a bitch to him. how disappointing that that's being shown as the desirable traits of a woman.
Also trigger warning needed for a number of references of r*** which really threw me in what is otherwise a pretty standard romance.

what chemistry?
