Publisher's Summary

Otto isn't an ordinary penguin: he is the first penguin chick to be born that year, which means that it is his job to look after all the other young penguins. But out in the snow and ice of Antarctica, there is an awful lot to learn, and Otto has to discover for himself how to swim, dive, and catch fish before he can teach anyone else. And how will he do that when all the grown-ups are too busy to help?

Loved it. Great for 5yo.

Jill Thomlinson is very clever. Learned lots about Emperor penguins. Beautiful story! Highly recommend it for little people and adults to listen in. We have listened to the Aardvark too, its a master piece, very witty, yet educational

Not quite right for 2 year old

Lovely reader although she has a heavy Irish accent which was a bit challenging for my 2.5 year old. Also, most of this story is Penguins talking to each other, which is not enough action for my little one, I think. On the plus side, there's nothing scary. Hard to find good audio books for very young children for long drives. This one can work but Frog and Toad or Magic Tree house are much better. I can't speak to how this would be received by an older child, probably would be great.

A little penguin who wants explore his word

My second audio book that I have finished. This is a cute story made for little kids, and people who want to learn English by listening English stories would like to find THEY CAN UNDERSTAND IT!!!!

I love this story, and it just tells a penguin who just was born from a cold world. He accepted the cold gradually, and loving it! (Quoted from my favorite TV show GET SMART). Penguins Look after Each Other. Eat full, listen to stories, and love keep a little penguin grow up health and warm.

I felt unlucky that I met the cute stories on a grown-up period, but it is never late to start listen as an adult to review the young one, cause the Little Prince still lives in my heart .

Brilliant

My 5 and 6 yr old sons just love all Jill Tomlinsons books, but this one in particular. The story is great, really funny and full of animal facts. Maureen Lipman's reading is just brilliant, how she can keep so many voices straight in her head I just don't know. But it makes the story really easy to follow. Highly recommend.
