Publisher's Summary

It takes a few wrong turns to find the right way.

Paul thought he was on his way. From a small-town Connecticut kid to the most prestigious consulting firm in the world, he had everything he thought he wanted. Yet he decided to walk away and embark on the "real work" of his life - finding the things that matter and daring to create a life to make them happen.

This Pathless Path is about finding yourself in the wrong life, and the real work of figuring out how to live. Through painstaking experiments, living in different countries and the goodwill of people from around the world, Paul pieces together a set of ideas and principles that guide him from unfulfilled and burned out to the good life and all of the existential crises in between.

The Pathless Path is not a how-to book filled with “hacks”; instead, it is a vulnerable account of Paul’s journey from leaving a path centered around getting ahead and towards another, one focused on doing work that matters. This book is an ideal companion for people considering leaving their jobs, embarking on a new path, dealing with the uncertainty of an unconventional path, or searching for better models for thinking about work in a fast-changing world.

Sings to your soul

If you have ever felt suffocated by the normal, you will appreciate this book in the first minute and every minute after that. It creates a great sense of belonging and has the potential to give you courage to stay on your pathless path. Grateful to the author for writing this.

Must-read for anyone who has questioned society’s value of a 9-5 job

A must read for the worker who spends their 9-5pm wondering if there’s more to life than their current job. Whether or not this book gives you the courage to quit your job, Paul’s story of his pathless path will at least give you a new awareness of the ‘life scripts’ you have subscribed to live a more conscious life.

Weak narration. All self-effacing.

It seems to me that the author changed his life and improved his personal work- life balance. But he doesn't have enough wisdom to teach the rest of us. plus, he doesn't stop to check his privilege. Weak voice, too. Should've hired a professional narrator/voice artist.

80% origin story 20% content

I personally find origin stories a little boring and this book is the authors origin story to arriving at the path less path. A bit of content and prompts scattered throughout but I wouldn’t recommend investing the time in this one.
