From author of THE ONE - now a major Netflix series - and THE FAMILY EXPERIMENT!

Eight self-drive cars set on a collision course. Who lives, who dies? You decide.

A gripping page-turning thriller for fans of BLACK MIRROR from the bestselling author of THE ONE.

When someone hacks into the systems of eight self-driving cars, their passengers are set on a fatal collision course.

The passengers are: a TV star, a pregnant young woman, a disabled war hero, an abused wife fleeing her husband, an undocumented immigrant, a husband and wife - and parents of two - who are travelling in separate vehicles and a suicidal man. Now the public have to judge who should survive but are the passengers all that they first seem?

'Provocative, terrifying and compulsive. Another savagely clever near future thriller' Cara Hunter, bestselling author of CLOSE TO HOME

'A 1970s disaster movie by way of Black Mirror, with a dash of Michael Crichton ... a sleek, exhilarating ride' Financial Times

With some real jaw dropping moments, it was an edge of your seat read that even surpassed The One. This will be the must read book of summer 2019.

Fast-paced, gripping and with twists and turns that catch you unawares – you’ll want to hang on to your seat belts until the very last page.

John Marrs is my current fave author - you just know it's going to be good because he wrote it. After watching "The One" on Netflix I listened to his book "What Lies Between Us" and LOVED it. Actually I binged it!! Now I am working my way through his back catalogue.

This book "The Passengers" is the perfect recipe of fear, suspenseful thriller, titillation and entertainment and the premise is utterly believable. I love that he builds in themes from this other books, but you do not have to have read them to follow the current plot.

I was a little disappointed by the finish of this one, so it dropped to only 4 stars, not 5 but still excellent and absolutely recommended. Next John Marrs... Next....

I absolutely love these books! John masterfully captures our deepest fears about how technology, often marketed for our benefit, can come with unforeseen consequences. He strikes the perfect balance between futurism and realism, making each story both thought-provoking and chillingly plausible.

Too close to a future reality

This is the 4th of John Marrs books that I’ve listened to - each one has been stranger than the last without actually challenging credulity. They paint scenarios that are freakishly plausible from where we are now. The plots are also tense, fast paced and mostly unpredictable. Only the language itself is a little dull and that is why I haven’t given this book the full five stars. Marrs often falls back onto cliched phrases as though he is moving so fast that he doesn’t have time to find his own words for things. It’s a shame, but it won’t stop me listening to more - maybe just interspersed with richer writing. All Marrs’ imagination seems to be poured into his story lines - and they are rippers!

Marrs’ plots are a-mazing
