A wardrobe of Dior gowns, a secret kept for sixty-five years, and the three women bound forever by war... from the New York Times bestselling author of The French Photographer

England, 1939 Talented pilot Skye Penrose joins the British war effort where she encounters her estranged sister, Liberty, and childhood soulmate Nicholas Crawford, now engaged to enigmatic Frenchwoman Margaux Jourdan.

Paris, 1947 Designer Christian Dior unveils his extravagant first collection to a world weary of war and grief. He names his debut fragrance, Miss Dior, in tribute to his sister, Catherine, who worked for the French Resistance.

Present day Australian fashion conservator Kat Jourdan discovers a secret wardrobe filled with priceless Dior gowns in her grandmother's vacant cottage. As she delves into the mystery, Kat begins to doubt everything she thought she knew about her beloved grandmother.

An unspeakable betrayal will entwine all of their fates.

What a wonderful story about strong amazing woman who history forgot. Although fictitious, it tells the story of brave women helping to win a war. The story of love and strong friendships. Beautifully presented by the narrators.

A love story across the ages

I really loved this book and found it hard to put down! The historical elements were fascinating, painting rich perspectives of women who fought to be allowed to play an active role in the WWII liberation of France. The accompanying family saga plus some high fashion combine in an intricately woven story line that is completely gripping.

Loved it!

This is the most extraordinary love story. And I shall read it again. I am devastated by the horrors of war, by the loss of time with family and friends who were still there, and those who passed. Thank you for bringing to light the transactions of post war human kindness. Thank you for sharing the personal story of Miss Dior and for bringing a new understanding of the generation of survivors. I now have a newfound compassion and empathy for that generation of survivors. Lest we forget.

Memorable and should be read by all

this was actually one of the absolute BEST books I've listened to!!! I really got attached to the charters, so much that when one would die I would get super upset and have to stop listeningfor a bit😫😅 it is a bit of a confusing and iratating book at times, but i promise that in the end it all makes sense! they don't mention in in the preview but that probably means that you probably dont know that it is one big mystery throughout the entire book! i personally LOVED piecing all the pieces of the puzzle together! actually i only started listening to it was because I was stuck between choosing wich book to listen to! (it was either this or the Paris seamstress wich is also I good read) I only chose this one first because I have the same name as one of the main characters 😆 but I'm glad i listened to it! Skye is a wonderful person to follow through the journey or flying planes in WWII. and Kat and Skye are so alike it was no wonder (SPOILER ALERT!) that they were related!! it was the best book ever! and there is a bit in about ravensbrük so that was a bit heartbreaking 😢

we should never forget the women who helped win WWII alongside the men.

they did so much all for them to be forgeten, I will never forget, I promise ❤️
great job natasher lester!
