Publisher's Summary

"When I read a Tiffany L. Warren novel I know I'm going to get two things - a riveting story and a faith boost!" (ReShonda Tate Billingsley)

All of Chenille Abrams' dreams came true the day she married NFL star Brayden Carpenter. He's the down-to-earth, loving, and protective man she never thought she'd find. And with her own successful career, Chenille plans to be more than just a famous athlete's wife. She's determined to balance work, marriage, and motherhood, as the couple awaits their first child....

Until their son is born with a crippling heart ailment. Until a devastated Brayden starts putting his career above everything else. And when tragedy strikes, Chenille struggles to find a reason to go on - as Brayden takes comfort from anywhere but home....

Little by little, Chenille picks up the pieces as she and Brayden try to make their marriage work once more. But when he fathers a baby that the mother can't keep, will this be the final blow? Or can they find a way past betrayal into unexpected hope - to at last have a future worth everything?

Pretty Good.

It felt rushed in some areas. And too detailed in others. I guess the book did its job. I got emotionally involved. I didn't care for the main character.

one thing I'm tiring of in black literature is the interracial, borderline self hate dynamic. Black characters rarely appear on works of Caucasian authors. There seems a need on the end of African American story tellers to write in a racial element.

What more would really take issue with her son choosing a woman that looks like her. That element made no sense to me. That felt unnecessary and over the top to me. There's not a mother of a black athelete in American history that would take issue with her black son choosing a black wife.

Anymore than there would be a mother of a white athelete who took issue with her son choosing a white wife. Something about that didn't sit well with me

Not for Many

This book held my attention for the last 30 minutes and even then I believed it could have been executed better. The character development was horrible along with the drawn-out storyline. I really did try to give this book a fair chance for my book club but in the end, I was just so angry I wasted a credit on this book that I didn't know what to do. The main character was problematic, pessimistic, and all around annoying and the descriptions of the events that took place throughout the book were so far fetched it made it hard to enjoy. I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone honestly.

One of THE BEST Books that I have listened to!

This book was one of THE BEST books that I have listened to in a while! It literally made me experience every emotion and was so relatable that I felt like I was a part of the story! And while the lead female character got on my nerves with some of her selfish and unforgiving ways, the finale 4 chapters provided total redemption. Seriously, this book was SO good. Everything about it was on point... even the narration, which rarely happens with these Audibles. It just gave me all the feels... All. Of. Them.

The name is misleading, but great read

I don't think this was an appropriate title to this book since the outside child was such a small portion of the book. I kept waiting for it to come into the story and it was almost over before it did. At any rate, the story itself was very good and found myself almost getting emotional at some points. Which is odd for me because I'm not really an emotional reader like that. Shaneel got on my nerves a WHOLE LOT throughout this book, but because I realize that there really are aggravating people like her in the real world, I gave it a pass. LOL. Great read Tiffany Warren.
