Publisher's Summary

I've sworn off men.

All men.

Famous last words, right? You're expecting some epic tale of reluctant love and my dramatic change of heart? Well, you're not going to get it.

I'm stubborn. And headstrong. And I've just survived the worst three years of my life. After escaping an abusive boyfriend to live in hostels and cheap hotels while I worked my way across Europe, I've come to two conclusions. The first? Now that I'm back home, I'm going to squander my expensive culinary degree on a food truck that caters to the late night drunk crowd. The second? I'm going to prove to the bastard across the plaza that my street food is better than his fussy five course monstrosities.

Killian Quinn might be Food and Wine's Chef to Watch Out For. He might have a Michelin Star. He might have every food critic in the city wrapped around his too-large fingers. But he's also pretentious and unbearably arrogant and the very opposite of me.

So he can keep his unsolicited advice and his late night visits and his cocky smiles. I want none of it. Or him.

I want the opposite.

Contains mature themes.

Enemies to lovers romance. 1POV. HEA. Standalone.

If you can’t handle the heat, then don’t read this book! 🔥 Get it? This book is about two chefs. See what I did there? I substituted “kitchen” for “chef”? .... yeah... I’m clever. 😉

Anyhow...
This is a Seductive, enemies to lovers romance with a touch of an obsessive ex boyfriend. There is a bit of a slow burn between the two mains and it’s pretty satisfying. There is a bit too much inner dialogue but overall, It’s a pretty good book!

Narration was pretty good as well.
The HEA isn’t too in-depth but it is cute. I’m assuming there will be more books 📚. The series, focused on other characters.

Absolutely loved!!!

This was such an amazing book! I don't think I've ever read a book where food was a big part of the storyline. Both characters were involved in the food industry. All I kept thinking while listening was that there needs to be more books like this! I absolutely loved this book!

Disappointed

Love all of the authors YA and paranormal type of work that I was excited to have something more adult. It was a good book and story line but overall disappointed compared to her other works.

Just Ok

This book was just ok. It’s a sweet romance but has too much attention to details that aren’t really relevant for the story. But the overall story is sweet.

Love story

A typical break up and find new love story, between two chefs. Warm and fun, even if plot is uncomplicated.

A deliciously sexy romance!

Rachel Higginson is my spirit animal. Her work is just incredible. And this novel is no less a masterpiece than her other works.

I loved Vera's and Killian's story. All she wants to do is make a name for herself in the culinary world. All Killian wants is to run his kitchen the way he wants and without and distractions - like Vera and her food truck.

"You keep saying words like crazy and insane and risky, but Vera, the best things in life are all of those things. You can't reap big rewards if you don't take big risks."

The chemistry between these two was intense. But it wasn't just the heat between these two that made me drool, the food showcased throughout this story made me want to be near Foodie the food truck!!

Very cute read

This was super cute! The story is an enemies to lovers romance that involves food trucks and snarky notes, so it had to be good. Vera has just returned home after running away to Europe to escape an abusive relationship and is opening her own food truck. She's parked across the street from a five star restaurant and the head chef decides to criticize her food. The snark is funny and Vera and Killian have good chemistry. I also liked Vera's brother and her friend and the way they help her out and would do anything for Vera. The narrator did a good job and this felt like it went by so quickly.
